Nicole Richie Serves Less Time in Jail Than Paris

It seems that you don’t have to have a mental breakdown to get a reduced sentence in L.A. Simple Life co-star Nicole Richie was released from jail by the L.A. County Sheriff’s office after serving 82 minutes of her four day sentence.
Under the Sheriff’s Department guidelines, Nicole was released due to overcrowding. I’m thinking that when Paris Hilton was in the pokey, she stayed longer because either it wasn’t crowded, or she was a menace to society and needed to stay longer.
Or maybe because she acted like a spoiled, shallow jerk in a blond wig and a flesh-colored greyhound costume….oh, wait; that’s not a costume, is it? (No, that comment wasn’t necessary.)
Seriously, attitude is everything when it comes to situations like this. Nicole has been pretty low-key the past several months, which I’m sure has everything to do with being an expectant mother. If that’s what it takes for a person to grow up, then that’s what it takes.
But it doesn’t work for everyone. Look at Britney.
As part of her sentence Nicole has agreed to three years probation, enrollment in an alcohol education program and paid a fine of $2,048. To read the full L.A. Times story, Click here.
