Bugging Device Found In Simon Cowell’s Room

British music mogul and American Idol judge Simon Cowell found himself in the middle of a police investigation in the U.K. when he discovered a bugging device in his room. Cowell, who was auditioning talent for the show Britain’s Got Talent, discovered the surveillance device attached in a room that he shared with fellow judges, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden. Reality show fans in America might know Morgan from NBC’s America’s Got Talent and he is currently on The Celebrity Apprentice.

It seems that a phony performer infiltrated the auditions that were being held at The Palace Theater in Manchester, England, and planted the bug before security realized he was a fake and asked him to leave. The following day the judges discovered the listening device under Simon’s desk. They then found two men in a car outside the theater, listening to the transmission.

It is thought that the show was being targeted by an illegal betting ring that was trying to get information about possible winners. Believe it or not, reality tv betting does happen, and winner’s shows such a Hell’s Kitchen and The Apprentice 2 have been leaked via offshore betting sites.
