In a shrewd marketing move the folks at the American Idol brand have found a way to pimp themselves out earlier in the season than ever. They have partnered with iTunes to make the top 24 finalists’ songs available for purchase online.

How often have you thought back over the years of watching AI, waited for the annual album by the top 12 or the actual winner, and sighed, “Man I wish I had that mediocre version of Dancing in the Streets by that guy with the hair, what’s his name…” Now, for 99 cents you can have that song. For $24 you can have them all.

Actually, Simon Fuller, the show’s creator thinks that there is so much incredible talent this year that you will actually want those songs. Now you don’t have to go to all the trouble of trying to find a way to pilfer them. You can get them legally on the internet.

iTunes will also be selling videos of the top 12 contestants for $1.99. For more information, click here.
