Reality Roll Call

Blake Lewis of last season, who made every song into a “beatbox” sound, performed his new relase, “How Many Words” at the opening of the elimination show. Okay, I know he’s not a contestant anymore, but God, am I tired of the whole “beatbox” thing.

Anyway, tonight’s carnage begins with Kady Malloy. Unfortunately, her only downfall was her inability to bring forth the massive amounts of personality that she has. The farewell montage was absolute proof of all the personality that this kid has. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to deliver on the spot. So once again, she was forced to sing the same song that got her booted in the first place, and she did okay, but “little pitchy in spots”, as Randy would say. Beautiful Kady; I’ll miss her.

Luke Mennard was next to go. He’s got a great face and a great personality but unfortunately, like Simon stated, a weak voice. He performed his farewell song without much difficulty - sorry to see him go. Paula gave him some kind words of encouragement. Guess he won’t be going back to cleaning carpets anytime soon.

Next up was Asia’h Epperson, the girl who sang beautifully at her audition three days after her father passed away. Simon spent most of his time giving her mean criticism because her voice suffered a little after a bad cold. So it was especially hard to see her go. Poor thing even lost a little bit of her luster when she was confronted with the bad news. She sang her Whitney Houston song “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” looking entirely like she did NOT want to dance with anybody. But she sang the song well. And she will definitely be missed.

The last to get the old heave-ho was Danny Noriega. While I was never really a fan of his, it broke my heart to see the poor little thing so deflated. His personality was incredibly annoying, and I never felt like his voice was that great, following his initial audition that got him there in the first place. I wish him tons of luck, though.

Well, that’s it; the latest evictees – Kady, Luke, Asia’h and Danny. Next week, we start with a total of 10 guys and 10 girls. The competition really begins to heat up!
