AMERICAN IDOL RESULTS SHOW: 3-12-08
by Deb Porter-Jones
The first consolidated results show begins with our twelve remaining contestants singing a medley of Lennon/McCartney music, which by the way was a big hit with the fans.
Fox Studios had actor Jim Carrey promoting his new movie “Horton Hears a Who” and he lightened up the mood a bit with his comedic antics.
Syesha Mercado was the first to make it to the bottom three and sang her song from Tuesday night: “Got to Get You Into My Life”. Randy and Paula both think she doesn’t deserve to be in the bottom three. Simon says she does deserve to be there.
Next to be inducted into the bottom three is Kristy Lee Cook. You’ll recall she’s the one who was told by Simon to “go country”, went country and then was told the country thing sucked.
This time, some fans were allowed to call in and ask the contestants and judges questions, which was an interesting addition to the show. Katherine McPhee sang a Lennon/McCartney favorite, “Something,” and was accompanied on piano by David Foster. She did a great job. She looked beautiful; all slim and svelte.
David Hernandez, the stripper, was the contestant eliminated tonight. I actually think he was a good singer, he just fell victim to not realizing the importance of choosing the right song and maintaining consistency every week. We’ll miss you, David.
