Now Carmelo Anthony Has a Reality Show? This is Getting Rediculous.
Faith W | August 7, 2008Instead of trying to figure out why it seems like the Denver Nuggets can’t play defense or run a set play offense to save their lives, Carmelo Anthony has been working on a reality show. This, I am sure, will get them out of the first round of the playoffs this season.
Carmelo’s Way, which is going to be on BET this fall, seems like an attempt to work on Melo’s public image:
After a 2007 NBA season filled with career highs, unfortunate lows, and constant change, Carmelo prepares for life in 2008 and beyond, with a new approach to the game and a new perspective on life. He begins to realize that people know Melo, but do they really know Melo?
Carmelo was in the same draft class with LeBron James, and Dwyane Wade, and compared to the two of them, he is considered to be a bit of an underachiever, despite his talent. He is also has a way of getting in trouble for doing bonehead things, like this spring when he got a DUI during the playoffs. That incident, along with his team’s customary elimination from the playoffs in the first round, led to a brief period of trade rumors. If he helps bring home the gold in the Olympics, that may boost his standing in the public eye. But, in case that doesn’t happen we’ll have this show to let us know he’s only human, and doing his best.
