Big Brother 10 Nomination and POV Spoilers: Week 9

Things are quickly moving toward the end of this season of Big Brother. When we last tuned in on CBS, Dan had won Head of Household, and there was a sumo wrestler sitting the the middle of the living room. Continue to read spoilers…

The sumo wrestler was sitting in the living room, on top of the clue for the luxury competition. Eventually, the big man stood up, after telling the houseguests repeatedly in Japanese that he was sitting on their clue. Dan grabbed the envelope with the clue, and read the the information. Apparently, the winner of the luxury comp would go on a trip outside of the house that could change the course of the game.

The next morning a person in a goriila suit woke the houseguests up for the luxury comp. He took them outside, where there were a bunch of clues that were to give them the phrase that solved the puzzle. Without getting into all of the details, Dan won, and would be taking the trip out of the house. Later, it was revealed that Jessie was the gorilla, although we didn’t actually see this information revealed in the feeds. I guess we’ll see that part of it on the show.

From what I understand, Dan’s prize would be that he would be picked up by helicopter, and get to spend time with one of the guests in the jury house to pursuade them to vote for him. He said that he could also take one of the final four with him, but he chose not to, for fear of making the people not chosen angry. Personally, I think if that is what the luxury comp prize, it sucks, and is basically a cheat. But, there are a few things that went on this season that are a bit questionable in my opinion.

Also, Memphis and Jerry were put on the block, and Memphis won the Power of Veto. The last time I watched the feeds, The Renegades had pretty much decided to screw over Keesha and vote her out, leaving the two of them with Jerry for the final three. They feel that is safer for them in the end, because they think that Jerry is a weaker player than Keesha, and even if he went to the final two, he wouldn’t win it all because everyone hates him.

Everyone may hate Jerry, but if he makes it to the end, he may win out of respect for the fact that he made it to the end, which is commendable for a 75 year old. Last night, Memphis and Dan were trying to decide whether they should try to get Jerry to give up his money to them in exchange for taking him to the final three. I hope they don’t, because as much as I don’t dig Jerry, I don’t think it’s right for them to feel that they  have the power to totally screw him over, no matter what he has said and done to offend them in the past.

It’s funny, but I didn’t find The Renegades to be unlikeable until Renny left. This weekend, I am not really liking those two for some reason. To be honest; in some ways I feel that there were times when things were kind of geared for Dan to suceeed in the game, and even though Memphis has won competitions, I think that his day-to-day gameplay was weak. Making deals with everyone in the house was a generic, and certainly not a particularly cerebral strategy. He didn’t even do it with any particular style or charm.

But more on each individual’s game play in this season’s “Player’s Fatal Mistakes,” piece, which will come in a few days.
