i sent my application online, and i got a response email with a v.i.p pass for auditions attached. did anyone else get this? I wanna know if this is the real deal or not, like that they actually want to personally see me

Well what it seems like for me is that it wasn’t automated, that I have something they’re looking for? I mean, I’m going, it’s a 270 dollar flight, but I think it will be worth it… if there have only been this many replies to this topic and this is only forum online, there must be something they see in the ones that did get it… I think they actually do read through the emails and I consider this kind of like a first round cut? Maybe I’m just too much of an optimist, but I’m leaving in a little over twelve ours on my way to NYC!

yea Joe you’re pretty much right about the forum thing. this seems to be the only forum that i’ve seen that people are talking about the vip passes. my drive will be 4 hours to the casting location and i really just want to make sure that these passes are not just automated and given to all.

Yeah I say go for it Santino… if anything, you get to take this experience and tell people how you kind of sort of got through an unoffical “round of cuts”, as I’d like to say, for the Real World… who knows, what if you get picked? I’ll be at Saturday’s at Libation in NYC - anyone else?

i participated in the open casting call at NYC at club Libation on saturday, Oct 4th, 2008 and i feel as though i did very well and the casting director said we would get call backs to come back the following day if they were interested in us but upon leaving, i found out they were not going to be at the club the next day. i did not get a callback, and on the application, i checked that i wanted to be notified via email. Can someone tell me if i should give up on waiting for a callback and are you allowed to attend more than one open call? thank you

I emailed them about a year ago and just got a response saying they wanted to advance to to the next round so they attached a form to fill out and tehy said they would let me know within 1 to 3 weeks if they want me to come out for an interview…. has anyone else gotten this???

yea i went to libation on saturday too. i did very well during my interview and i thought the lady said the people they wanted to come back said they would call them that night by 11pm but i didnt get a call and i dont understand how they can select people from over 500 applicants in about 3 hours. usually i have heard it takes a week or 2 to get a call back from the first interview. idk, has anyone gotten a callback? also how do i email bunim and murray, wats their email??

I got a VIP too…first for Boston, but I ended up not being able to make it, & then for NYC..I was wondering the same thing too if a rediculous amount of people get VIP passes?

there were alot of VIP’s when i went to Libation in nyc. the VIP line was longer than the regular line. does being a VIP only let u cut the line or do u get other privledges because i was on the regular line and i was one of the first ones in anyway so being a VIP didnt do much for some people. also has anyone who went to Libation for the audition got a call back yet??

hmm, i think maybe they meant sometime this week cause i know some people who have auditioned before and they said that they call people like a week or 2 later. remember that there are so many people who auditioned. its not easy choosing people so quickly. i really hope i get a call back. i liked my group and felt all of us were pretty good. wat did u guys talk about in ur audition? we talked about politics, britney spears, sara palin, the presidency, voting, and then used one word to describe ourselves. wat about u guys?

how long did it take to get a vip pass after you sent your email?

I emailed in June and got the VIP last Tuesday… same here tho, I thought half of my group was pretty good and was certain this one guy was going to get a call back, and he didn’t… maybe they do call within a week or 2? Who knows, I just know I wouldn’t be able to go back to New York cuz I’m in Pittsburgh now… oh well.

I applied way back for season 20 and never heard anything for the longest time, a year later they called me and I filled out a huge form for season 21. Finally, as of a few days ago I got a VIP pass for knoxville TN for season 22. I’m just really confused on this whole process and wondering if I should even go next tuesday.

I sent in a video tape in February and just got an email to fill our this HUGE form that I need to send in in 3 days. I sent it with pics but I’m so confused how there are all these ways of getting to the next round. I passed the first round just by my video tape. I didn’t meet anyone or talk to anyone. Is there more than one way to get to the second round? Am I at a disadvantage because I didnt go to an audition? Did anyone else do this essay and then go to the 3rd round? ………….

so i filled out the application thing on mtv.com and got a email a month later, sep 18 (with the 16 page application. i filled it out faxed it in. a week later i got a pre screen call. (to talk to a guy and for him to check my personality out) two weeks later I got the vip invitation. They asked a few people to stay behind after the group interview and answer another 16 page application. this happened yesterday. the city i auditioned for is LA. now im waiting for the call…

does anyone know how many rounds there are? i believe i’m on round two and hopefully going on to round 3 for the casting process. I too like most of you guys on here filled out that long packet of questions.

I received an email back as well. Nothing about “V.I.P. Passes” though. They simply just congratulated me and gave me an appointment time for October 15th in Minneapolis (which is 15 min. away from me). They told me to reply back confirming I would be attending.. does anyone know what the next phases are??

BTW.. I have filled out the 16 page packet and will be meeting a casting director. An “INVITATION ONLY Meet and Greet” with a casting director..

Ok so here is my process.. I sent an e-mail back in june.. I got a vip pas for the dallas casting call… there were abt 300 ppl and helf had the same thing… I didn’t have to wait very long.. They put us in groups of 12-15 ppl and asked the ones they liked to stay behind.
We then filled out the 16 page packet everyone was talking abt.. Then they said they would call that night for the callbacks.. I didn’t actually get the call until the next wednesday which was 2 weeks ago.. I did an online video through Skipe.. And they moved me to the next round where I had to send in a tape.. Which I did this monday.. So I hope this helps some ppl with process questions.. They told me it would be another month to hear back since there are more casting calls

i also just got done with my one on one with a casting director. the meet and greet is considered a casting call by the way. my casting call only had about 15 ppl. I have to send in a home video also. they said to expect a call in the next two weeks.. so technically the whole application is not considered a interview and niether is the greet and meet thing.. they are just pre screens..

Ok so I have a one on one meet and greet with a casting a director in chiago but I was wondering if it is even worth going to? What kind of questions do I ask and What kinds of peoples were in the groups with you guys??

meet and greet is a group interview.. unless they call and tell you that you have a one on one video taped audition. the video taped audition is with a casting director.. if you live far from the city its not worth going in. less then half the people get asked to come back or fill out more questions. then after you take 3 hrs to fill out the packet, they will read through it and see if they like you enough to come back to a video taped audition. after that you have several more things to go through.. you come to them, they dont come to you.

So my process went like this…I emailed a while back for the hell of it….Then i heard about an open casting in boston so i went to it. I didnt realize until later that week checking back in my emails that i had recieved a VIP pass…wish i had noticed that. So i stood in line like everyone else..anyways..and it didnt matter bc after the group interview they asked me to stay. Took a picture..and fill out a huge packet that took me about 2 hours. The very next day i had an on camera interview where they asked me all sorts of redic questions..which now looking back i cant believe i answered SO honestly. No shame i suppose. anyways so at the end of that she said she liked me and was sending me thru to the next round and to wait for an email with details about the video they wanted me to make. So i made that…sent it in…and got an email today from a casting director. They didnt mention anything about my video..but asked me to send in 3 pictures of myself…Hopfully this sheds a little light on the process for ppl. goodluck everyone

So, I got the long applictaion in my e-mail as well and they said they would call me in a week- 3 weeks and I got a call last night from a girl from the real world productions and I have a one on one interview coming up. She said she would give me a call next weeks to schedual a time for me to sit down for a couple hours and interview….

So the invitiation only meet and greet with a casting director isnt anything special?? b ecause i thought that i was one of the few opnes to get this and i guess noT!

i got the email also.. im in the process of making my video.. i have to send it in asap.. i should be done mon.. express delivery there.. then the wait is on.. well good luck to Jenn and D.

when i talked to the casting director he told me that every single process narrows people down. first, if you sent the email and the bio, (they cut it down to a certain amount of ppl, alot of ppl get through though this round) then some people either get the email with the 16 page application. After I faxed the 16 pg app I got a pre screen call. I talked to a guy for about 15 min on the phone. This also narrows ppl down. They read the app and choose if they like you or not. The pre screen calls also narrows it down. Then I got the VIP pass, ( a group interview that had about 200 ppl total that DAY) They then asked about 50% of the ppl to stay. You then have to fill out the 16 app all over again. (its smart to prefill it out, if you got it in yr email.) Most people sat there for 2-3 hrs to fill it out or you can fax or mail it in later that day. The casting dir again read the app and calls you if they like you (narrow down ppl again) I got a call the very next day to come into a video taped audition. I sat there for 1 1/2 hr answering question ( camera directly in your face) then they will tell you IF they like you they will send an email to ask for something.(this narrows ppl down) I got the email yesterday asking for a homevideo. I have a week to send it in. This is the point im at. so I hope my detailed discription helps ppl.. I know I wish I had someone to tell me about all this.. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

My situation is weird. I responded to a call for Bad Girls Club and I went but never got called back for it. Then now a few months since that meet and greet, I received an email saying we liked your bio and pics please come to an INVITATION only meet and greet…but I never sent photos or a bio to the Real World….I’m going to the MnG but I find that weird that I never sent anything…my hopes are that someone liked me at the BGC and forwarded my information…ugg.

After filling out the application and sending it via e-mail, I recieved a phone call from a lady who asked me questions for about 10-15 minutes and then called me back yesterday and sent me an e-mail asking me to set up a Skype account and I have a Interview with a producer Via webcam… on Monday

ya that’s what I had to do… I sent the home video from the start and then months later I got an e-mail with the 16 page app and needed to send that in in 3 days with pictures. The following day I got a call from a lady and she asked me questions for about 20 minutes. Then the following day I got another call asking me to set up a skype interview that would be recorded and passed on to the producers. I did that interview about a week ago and she said I would be hearing back in 2-3 weeks…. I don’t want to get my hopes up but I feel like it was all pretty fast and legit. How many people do the skype interview?

if you send in a video and get a call back and then get the 16 page app but dont hear from them again, is it wise to send in another video for the next season casting or do they have ur video logged and just refer it for future use?

and for those wanting to know about what questions they ask at the interview it’s basically a further elaboration of the questions you answered in the 16 page document.. like how you deal with situations, how you are with relationships with your family and friends, and such.. they asked me to dance on camera, and they make you stand up and show a body shot, I’m guessing to make sure you are appealing and not a heifer.. hope this helps

Jenn…I also got a call today about my availability for Nov 3-7. Did they tell you what it’s for?? All I was told after I gave her my available hours is that if they need anything else,they’ll get back to me. So I’m really curious…

I wonder how many steps there are in this process…seems like it’s long…scary but so exciting!

So I did my Skype Interview yesterday and they basically asked the same questions as in the long interview and at the very end she said that I should be recieving a call within the first week of Nov. I was also told last night, that the second round of casting isnt even untill the beginning of Nov. so all the open calls, interviews and all that stuff is still considered the 1st round….. thats crazy! She also said that the second round is much like the first but longer interviews and more questions and more talking with the producers…..

For those of you who did the Skype interview, how long did it take? Like an hour or so?

about an Hour… It’s very awkward because you cannot see the other person, and you cant really see yourself eaither. And basically you are talking to a computer!

I need to send in a tape 5 to 10 min long somwhat confused on what they exactly ant…anyone know??

they will send an email asking you to send a 5-10 min video a week before your next interview.. which is sometime between the first week and the second week of november. It has to be about things that they didnt ask you on your interview.. friends, family. etc. I am taking mine down there tomorrow..

well they only call you back to ask you availability nov 3-7 IF they liked your video.. (for another interview). you have to get a email asking for the video though…

As someone who has made it to finals, please take my advice. If you do not get a call by probably Wednesday asking u about ur schedule for Nov 3-7, you didnt make it. Sorry, it sucks to be rejected, trust me…I know. Also, you all have quite a long journey to go even if you are interviewing in November.

I went to a casting call and then made it to the live 45 min taped interview the next day. They said they would call back in the next 2 weeks. It has been one week today from the interview. Are the next interviews still in November if I tried out live?

Yeah I had my interview on camera last Monday so it’s only been a week for me and she said they would get back to me in about 2 weeks. So even though the so called “dead line” is this Wednesday… should i just forget about it even if I’ve only waited one week so far. I mean I have the number of who I interviewed with and I kind of wanted to call, but only to ask, since I might not be making it this time around, how do I go about re-applying? Do they keep everything I gave them and what was recorded of me, or do I have to start at square one for next time?

Los angelos.. congrats to you too amy and Jenn.. I wonder what they will be asking or anything else.. 70 ppl.. wow.. it was narrowed down a lot.. thousands to now less then 70.. jeez.. Jenn what city are you from?

There is no exact deadline once youre in the process..the timeframe varies from person to person depending on when you applied and how far along the casting directors are right now. Some people are higher on the list than others are so not everyone will get a call at the same time as others. I will say this though, if you havent reached the one on one interview (either thru skype or in person) ye ,then it doesnt look so good for you right now.

How long after the skype interview do you usually get to the next step. Today I had the skype interview and they said she is going to hand the tape to the director then we will take it from there, im just wondering how long should I wait until I realize im out?

WILL IF THEY LIKE YOU, you should hear from them within 2 weeks or so. Maybe even earlier than that. I believe most of Nov will be filled with semi finalist interviews.

Congrats to everyone who made it. I dont know if for sure the final day they are suppose to call, I am just comparing to my situation. Also, just because you were asked to make a video DOES NOT mean you made it to semi’s. Also, its true, no more than 70 people made it. Only about 30 people make it to finals. Also your last video tape interview will be similar to your next interview…I should and probably will stop writing on here, simply because I dont want to help anyone else out, seeing that there is a possibly that I will be back in finals….

i dont think by posting on here (about what to expect) will make anyone have a better chance on making the show… it all depends on personality and looks.. i have mine wed and ill be glad to tell everyone what they ask and whatever.. its not like they ask the same questions or the same person will be doing the interview.. it might help calm some nerves.. thats about it..

I just received and e-mail on Thursday the 30th telling me that I made it to the next round. I was given the application form and I sent it this morning with three pics and my DL. They said I would hear back in 1-3 weeks if I had a 1 on 1 interview. I feel like I’m so behind compared to everyone else. Fingers crossed!

The semi-finalists were interviewed on the week of Nov 3rd…I dunno if any more were really interviewed after that. Finalists should be picked by the end of this month. Has anyone heard back about a finalist interview yet?

And by the way, its interesting how after ”anygirlpost” said that you can get disqualified for writing on here that almost no one has written on here! C’mon people..they won’t know…no one is using their real names…emails aren’t published..and if you’re real paranoid you can write a fake email address. So don’t be afraid to write on here…we can keep eachother updated….just stay anonymous.

well i don’t have anything to update on since i didn’t even run for it, but i’m just curious about the process….always have been. I thought that was just hearsay, the whole “contacted by end of month” thing. Okay, I’ll cave. I have a friend who auditioned and she’s too worried. She’s freaking out because no one has called her back after her interview and she keeps saying they just ’say’ they’ll let you know at the end of the month, but what if they DON’T pass you to the next round. Do you still get a call letting you know or will you be left in agony forever? lol. I’m trying to be positive for her but the poor thing is a nervous wreck.

The only time they let you know if youve been cut or not is after you make it to the final round. Prior to that, they dont tell you if youve been cut or not.

sucks to be her. she said they had told her something like “i guess we could since it’s not very many people to call”. sounds a little vague. I just don’t want to be the pessimistic friend. When should i tell her to get over it and give up? I guess if she doesn’t hear back by the first week of december that she should move on. that’s so stressful. i don’t know how you guys do it.

Well she can always keep trying out until she’s 24. But whether she’s been cut or not depends on how far in the process she is. How far along has she gotten?

I just read some of the comments on here and it looks like people went through different auditioning/level steps depending on what city they went to. Is that typically how it is? Because my friend went to the Philly audition and her process was a little different.

So for my Semi-Finals round they flew me out to L.A for the day and I did my interview at the Bunimm-Murray Production Place. And im from Dallas, and it was me and one other little black girl. I dont know if they only flew us two out but she wasnt Dallas she was from somewhere else in texas. Did anyone else get flown out?

I know this is a confusing and nerve-racking process but I wish everyone the best! Try not to stress as much as I am! lol Everything happens for a reason…

They are actually still auditioning (yes, round 1) in one more city this weekend, but it will be the whole weekend, so their process will go VERY fast compared to everyone else. I am pretty sure that once they finish that city, the finalist will be notified. Usually if they tell you you will know by the end of the month for semi’s, you probably will….unless you do not make it. In comparison to my process, I will guesstimate a call date of 11/24 or 11/25 (remember just a guess of comparison). Good luck to all…its a rough and long wait that will only (hopefully) get longer

Yep its true they are auditioning in one more city in Cali I believe. So don’t count yourselves out just yet because anything can happen. However, if you don’t get a call about the semifinal interview by the end of the month then I am sure you can count yourself out

What city did yall have yall semi final interview in? I’m in the ATL area.

oh amen for this thread! i’ve been panicking like an anxiety ridden mess just waiting on calls. i auditioned in ny and from what i read on here, our process was similar but with a few differences. um, i was told that it’s something like you hear back at some point during the last two weeks of november, then you have one more interview (probably in LA) and they pick the people before christmas? I don’t know how accurate that is. I’m more curious as to where it’s going to be. I kindda lost hope on getting picked (i’m just pessimistic) but it’s fun to say i was part of the semis lol

maybe since thanksgiving is coming up they are going to do calls after thanks giving.. wow a friend of mine had her semi final interview in LA and they said that they are calling everyone back after thanks giving..

but i think they probably won’t call if you DOn’T get picked which sucks! then you’re basically just left ins suspense for who knows how long.

They def don’t call if you don’t get picked for finals, but I am sure someone who post on here will make it to finals, and from there you will know your fate. Also, the last casting call city is NOT in Riverdale, CA, its actually in Atlanta. It was posted in a couple places, but it was not posted on the website (for whatever reason). Also you will get a “notice” before the actual call. (When you get the “notice” you will know what I am talking about )….

Nope. But I may not get the notice again, because I probably wont need it….long story. I would love to tell more, seriously, but if I tell about my current situation I am SURE they will know who I am. But feel free to ask more questions, I will answer what I can without giving myself away.

I just got a call and they said they are having someone fly out to houston to interview me around 6 on saturday? what does this mean?. I had applied online about 3 days ago

First I was “JJJ” and someone took that…then I was “ME” and someone took that….lol geeez its funny…but anyway…..

B. SPEARS….I’m so curious as to what this ”notice” is! lol And what call are you talking about…are you talking about getting this ”notice” for a call letting you know if you’re a finalist? Also….what did they tell you at the semi finalist interview? When did hey tell you they’d be picking finalists and letting them know?

This long process sucks y’all…lol but its cool we’re all kinda freakin out together…its cool we can somewhat help eachother out.

i just woke up from a bad dream. it probably would’ve been longer had my alarm not gone off. i was in a room with seven other people and i got eleminated. she ( a casting director) gave me a dirty look and said no one voted for me. for shame. i was devestated. but it did teach me a lesson- my personality sucks ass.
i’m gonng take it as a pre-cog dream and assume i’m not in the running anymore. my subconscious is telling me to let it go and i think i’m going to listen. i really just want to call and say “hey, i know ya’ll dont ttypically do this but can u shoot me an email saying ‘no’ or something?” :\ my girlfriend is here saying “no, dont do it, just wait until the first week of december” idk. eah, i’m totaly curious about what b.spears is talking about. i was told u wouldnt hear back until the last two wks of november so it’s interesting that she already knows something is “coming”.

So is it safe to say all that is currently speaking on here has already completed the semi final interview?

I really can’t believe they are flying casting directors out and having last minute casting calls like this. This is all very new in comparison to all the other past seasons. I think they are doing these last minute things because they are probably looking for something very specific in someone/people that the feel they haven’t found yet. Someone on the Real World once did not get picked for a certain season because they were trying to “build” a certain cast for that season, so in turn they were placed on the next season. I didn’t want to say what the “notice” is usually an email asking questions about your availability, I didn’t want to say it at first b/c just because you get asked about your availability for the next 4-5mths, doesn’t mean you make it…but its probably an 80% chance that you did make it to finals.

i agree w/ spears. i think they are really looking to piece certain people together and it’s probably why they are still searching and having these last minute casting opportunities. it’s getting down to the wire with only a week or so left before the “finalists” have been decided (i’d assume around 30 people). Do they fly all these people out to LA for an interview with multiple casting directors? Has anyone been through this process (get that close only to be shunned later)? Very interesting. Hopefully they pick a better cast than brooklyn- those kids look LAME.

Also, I will not talk about my interview process, not because I don’t want to, but again, they will know it’s me. And for all the semi-finalist out there….compare your first interview to your semi-final interview, do you feel the casting director really liked you? (be honest with yourself). Everyone I talked to who did/didn’t make it to finals could almost tell if their casting director really liked or didn’t care for us. Think about this, would any of the casting directors fight for you to move to the next round because they liked you so much? But also consider the fact that more than one person votes, but I was told while in finals by someone at BMP that “if a casting director REALLY likes you, you will be in finals.” Also the casting call in Atlanta is already in process it began on Thursday and ends I think Saturday. It was a invite only type casting call.

does that mean the season will be held in atlanta? idk if i would say i was LIKED, but they told me i was very interesting. and we definitely surpassed the scheduled interview time. the person after me had to wait an additional half hour to be seen. i dont know what that means. and i asked if these things take very long (the interview). they said if they arent interested in the person, that they tend to cut it short.

my guess for b.spears is this: you had auditioned prior and didn’t make it to a certain season (they probably didn’t think you’d fit the mold during that time) so they kept you on reserves. Now for this season, you’re probably a good fit so they reached out again? just a guess.
