Big Brother 11 Week 5 Nomination/Veto Spoilers

BIG BROTHER 11Surprisingly, since Chima won HoH she hasn’t been quite the diva I thought she’d be. The only thing she’s doing differently from all of the HoH’s this season is locking her door at all times. I really want to be mad at that, but I can’t because it’s just a locked door, and she doesn’t want people running in and out of her room. She took some time to talk to everyone in the house and all of the conversations remained civil. The convo with Russell did get a little heated, but they caught themselves and even had a pretty touching heart to heart at the end.  But alas, that heart to heart didn’t prevent her from throwing him up on the block, along with Lydia.

Naturally, her real target is Rusell, and Lydia has gained the unofficial  title of  “pawn” this season. Chima and the rest of her alliance decided that neither Rusell or Lydia has the power, so its safe for them to be on the block, believing that if the person with the power isn’t on the block then they won’t use it. They are also pretty certain that Jeff has the power because he’s the only one who doesn’t want to talk about who has the power. The funny thing is that if they talked to Jeff they’d realise that he doesn’t want to talk about game EVER, so not wanting to talk about the “wizard” is completely in character for him.

Before the veto competition Jessie lost his mind;  paranoia getting the best of him. He insisted that he was going home on Thursday and blew up at both Natalie and Lydia when they told him otherwise. In addition to blowing up at his two closest girl allies, he was also mad at Rusell for not picking him as “house guest’s choice” for the veto competition. He said that Rusell left him vulnerable by not allowing him to win veto and keep himself safe from the myster power. I’m not sure who Rusell picked to compete, but it was probably somebody he thought he’d have a good chance of beating. Kevin perhaps?

On Saturday night the veto competition was played and Kevin came out the victor. Now, naturally you’d think he’d be taking Lydia off the block no questions asked, right? Wrong! He actually went to the HoH to ask Chima if he could use the veto on his friend and ally.   Chima assured him that Lydia would be safe, and it seemed like that was good enough for Kevin. Also I think he might be scared of the Coup  D’etat as well, and he doesn’t want to ruffle anyone’s feathers. So right now it looks like he won’t be using the veto, but you can’t be sure until the ceremony passes and it’s not used.

One final thing I want to touch on is CBS’ manipulation of the viewers on Sunday’s episode with Chima’s story of sexual assault. She let everyone know the story of her rape in week 2. I don’t like how they made it seem like once she got in power she decided to open up to the house guests. It makes me wonder if it had not been for Chima winning HoH would they have ever aired a story that really needed to be told. All I know is that I’m going to be keeping an eye on the editing from this point forward to see what they start showing things out of sequence for the sake of a story.
