Anyone who watched Real World: Brooklyn there’s probably no moment that stands out more than when Ryan a got phone from call from his brother letting him know that he had been called back to active duty. First Look at the Cast of The Real World: DC

All Real World fans know that once The Real World/Road Rules Challenge ends it’s time to gear up for another season of the strangers who find out what it’s like when they stop being polite and get real.

This weekend The Washington Post did a piece on The Real World: DC cast, who vacated the city October 13th, after spending the summer together and contributing to a better world while working at places like The Human Rights Campaign and Rhino Bar. It sounds like each castmate will had their own separate job while working in DC, something that I can’t remember happening since the show was in its infancy.

Here’s a tour of the house, and a look at the cast:

Tonya Explains Why She Seemed Ruined On The Ruins

Everyone that follows Real World or Real World/Road Rules challenges know that Tonya has never a prime example of  “stable,” but on the premier episode of The Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Ruins she seemed especially crazy. Not too long ago Tonya posted a blog on her MySpace, letting the fans know why she was acting the way she was:
“I want to be perfectly honest with all ye’all I am not surprised by the episode. I have always prided myself on giving you the real Tonya, good or bad, ugly or embarrassing. Unfortunately this is exactly where i was at that point in my life. I was just coming out of a insane marriage and had kinda lost myself and thought that i was ready to be in the spot light of the challenge again.

Truth be told we are all human. So i got drunk, i got stupid, i embarrassed the hell out of myself. Then i sober up and realized i was being a ass. So I stepped up to the plate and did what tonya usually does. KICK ASS!

I love that my teammates underestimate me, but what they don’t realize is i never underestimate myself. I was pretty damn proud of myself for busting out a win in the first ever Ruins. Don’t get me wrong i was scared as hell, but at the end of the day in a face off your true colors will shine. I did my job and the difference between past challenges and now is that for the first time in the history of challenges, i had my teams support. If you watch the episode, if wasn’t half assed cheering, it was genuine.

On this season I will unravel and ravel back up again. I can guarantee i will leave my heart on the table regardless of the outcome.

~Tonya

Evelyn and my fight was over more then a few drinks. The reason why i lost it on her was because she chose to out me infront of a group of people about a very sensitive and private matter. She took something that i trusted her with and put it on blast for everyone to judge. I couldn’t believe that she would choose to hurt me in such a deep way. Sometimes personal matters go beyond the show. Its one thing to make fun or pick on your team mates, its another thing to put personal and private life on display. My outrage was do to this ……. and a few drinks.”

The Real World Cancun’s CJ Talks About His NFL Hopes

September 23, 2009 by Faith Whitfield

There comes a time in many young boys’ lives when they start thinking about what they want to be when they grow up. And often, at least for a week or two, they all believe deep in their hearts that they can play in the NFL, or be a pro wrestler. When my son reached that point in his life, I was way ahead of him. I passionately encouraged him to consider a future in the NFL…as a punter. As a mother, I thought it was the best job in the NFL. I never had to worry about him getting seriously hurt, and if he was on a good team, he’d rarely get to play. He never dignified my suggestion with a response.

I never thought about punters again until this season of The Real World Cancun. CJ, the season’s All-American Boy type, aspires to be an NFL punter. And he actually flew to Las Vegas for tryouts.

ESPN.com has written a piece about CJ, and his dream to be in the NFL. After reading the post I looked at punting in a different way. Punting is one of the hardest positions to get in the NFL, because there are only 32 of them, and because they don’t get a lot of play, they are not quick to retire. But CJ is not discouraged; he actually says that he is on a few teams’ short list. Click here to read the full article.

Don’t Miss The Real World: Cancun Tonight

This week, another roommate says goodbye to The ME hotel.

Tonight’s episode of  The Real World: Cancun is about Bronne. We’ve seen Bronne this season, but we really don’t know what he’s been doing with his free time in Cancun. Tonight we find out. He’s been building short term relationships with things that shoot.

Here we see him engaging in a good time with a super soaker he picked up in a toy store:

And here we see him with a fire extinguisher. Bronne is having a great time with it, until the fire extinguisher doesn’t want to cooperate:

I’m pretty sure things continue to go downhill from there. And, as things heat up with Pat, will Jonna have to decide between him and her boyfriend back home?

Don’t miss The Real World: Cancun tonight at 10:00 PM on MTV.

Real World: Cancun’s Ayiiia Talks About Her Struggle With Cutting

Comments Off

RRC: So, I hear there’s a pretty serious episode of The Real World: Cancun tomorrow…
Ayiia: A pretty deep episode.
RRC: If I were to ask to give a synopsis of tomorrow’s episode, what would you tell me?
Ayiia: I would say that in the next episode of the Real World, you are actually going to  see a problem that I have dealt with since I was thirteen, and it’s a very personal and a deep issue. You guys are going to see why it (cutting) happens, and how long I’ve been doing it. I just kind of go into what it is all about.
RRC: So we are actually going to see you harm yourself on the show?
Ayiia: Yes.
RRC: And there was a conflict that brought it about?
Ayiia: An argument gooes on in the house, and things just kind of blow up. And I’m not in a healthy state of mind, and I just lose it for a second because I don’t know how else to deal with certain situations. In the moment I had so much going on that I felt that it was my only outlet, because I didn’t have actual friends to really lean on.
RRC: So, it was like a release for you.
Ayiia: Yes, it was a release because I was going through so much.
RRC: In watching the episodes to date, a lot of people have to wonder if you were happy in Cancun. What was that experience  like for you?
Ayiia: I was very, very happy in Cancun. I had a great time, I met wonderful people, including my roommates and locals. It was a great experience.
I was kept in a safety net in San Diego, and I wasn’t used to anything else. And dealing with people who aren’t neccessarily okay with your personality was just very stressful. And liquor, of course, doesn’t do well in the mix.
RRC: How did it come about that they realized you were cutting?
Ayiia: At first they have no idea. Tomorrow’s episode that I do it, and I get caught by one of the roommates, and that’s when the whole controversy begins. Some of my roommates are there for me and like, “she’s going through stuff, and are like. “we’ve gotta be there for her.” And there are other roommates who say that she just wants attention. And they’re not very sensitive about the situation.
RRC: But, clearly for you it works out okay in the end.
Ayiia: Yes.
RRC: Let’s talk about the follow up.
Ayiia: I have been getting help and I’ve been just dealing with my emotions in a healthy way.I started to go to the gym; I draw, I write, you know, everything to just keep me away from that. Before the show, I hadn’t done that for a year and a half. I was very clean. So when I was brought into the stress on the show it was very hard to deal with.
I am okay; it’s just situations that I am put it that make it really, really hard.
RRC: If you were to give advice to someone who was in an emotionally stressful situation and they were considering handling in the same way, what would you tell them?
Ayiia:  I would definitely say to seek treatment, if you are willing to do that. I know that it’s very difficult because you do have to get very personal and open with the therapist. You need to find a therapsist that you feel comfortable with for them to help you. Other than that, you can just find different outlets. It’s very healthy to go to the gym. When you’re stressed out just go take a jog.
You’re not the only one who’s going through this. There are thousands of people who are going through it, and they just don’t speak on it. You can’t go on like that for the rest of your life, because that’s not how it goes.
As for the rest of the season, she says that each episode will tackle a different subject with a different person. She says that people who have been watching should continue to watch becuase you will get to see the roommates grow.
Parting words? “I want to say that I’m not as terrible as I look on the  show. It’s TV, it’s for the ratings; there has to be a villian on the show, but that’s not all of me.If you go on the dailies on realworlddailies.com you actually get to see my personality, because I am the jokester. You’ll definely get to see my personality on the dailies more.

AyiiiaTonight’s episode of  The Real World: Cancun tackled the very serious subject of self-injury, when castmate Ayiiia is caught cutting herself after a nasty blow-up with some of the guys in the house. Ayiiia, who also has a past history of drug abuse, began cutting when she was thirteen years old, but had been clean for over a year before going to Cancun.

I had the chance to speak with Ayiiia the day before the show aired. She spoke openly about her struggle self-mutilation:

RRC: So, I hear there’s a pretty serious episode of The Real World: Cancun tomorrow…

Ayiiia: A pretty deep episode.

RRC: If I were to ask to give a synopsis of tomorrow’s episode, what would you tell me?

Ayiiia: I would say that in the next episode of the Real World, you are actually going to  see a problem that I have dealt with since I was thirteen, and it’s a very personal and a deep issue. You guys are going to see why it (cutting) happens, and how long I’ve been doing it. I just kind of go into what it is all about.

RRC: So we are actually going to see you harm yourself on the show?

The Student City Boss Gives You the Behind the Scenes Scoop

Last week there was a lot of girl drama on The Real World: Cancun. Actually, it was one hour of some of the most immature, senseless girl drama that I have ever seen since The Real World began many, many years ago.  And that says a lot.

But if we thought that these girls had totally lost their minds, imagine what their boss must have thought. Christine, the Program Director of Student City has submitted her personal take on last week’s episode:
