Is Wes Too Good for The Ruins?

Former Real World/Road Rules Champion Wes Bergmann is a successful businessman. So what made him go to The Ruins?

This season of  Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Ruins has the challengers facing proven champions, which should be a cakewalk for the people who have already won in previous competitions. But when  a certain red-haired, muscle-bound competitor named Wes decides to sabotage his own team until they “play fair”, its seems like it’s any body’s game.

Wes Bergmann started The Ruins off on contentious footing, mixing his personal vendetta against Kenny with a choice not to be a team player because he didn’t like the way they chose people to go into battle. And Evan, Kenny and Johnny who have been dominating the previous several challenges seemed to not want Wes to come to Thailand.  Evan said that he called Wes several times to find out if he was going to be in the competition, and he said he wasn’t. Yet, he showed up, causing Evan to say he didn’t trust him.

Evan seems to think that Wes lied to him about participating in the ruins just to mess with his head. Honestly, I don’t think that’s true. Wes is probably a very busy man. He and his ex-fiance Johanna own a bar in L.A., and he just opened a Korean-style frozen yogurt shop in his hometown of Leawood, KS. He’s very much involved in entrepreneurial pursuits, and from all accounts wanted to spend his time running his businesses.

However, according to an article in Sun Publications, he did say that he would return to do a Real World/Road Rules Challenge if it was in his best interest from a financial standpoint:

“I’m not necessarily opposed to going back. But I promise you if I go back, it was because I was compensated very well. I want to make a name for myself for my brain and entrepreneurship now.”

You have to wonder how much he was offered to come back and shake things up. Probably more than some of the people who seem to show up for every single challenge.

And for all the girls who were wondering: he and KellyAnne are no longer together. According to the article, which was written before he went to do The Ruins, he and KelleyAnne had broken up. Either the article has its dates wrong, or Wes and KellyAnne were  pretending to still be together for the show.

Hey guys… well anyone that watched me on The Real World: Hollywood knows I lost my friend and mentor Brandon to cancer. Since the show I’ve been trying to stay active with hosting and promoting awareness on the topic of cancer. With The Real World/ Road Rules Challenge: The Duel 2 coming out with me on it I thought it would be a good time to give everyone a chance to play a part. C.T. peppers Adam’s sauce on The Duel II

One of the funniest moments at last year’s Real World Awards Bash was when C.T. from RW Paris got into a scuffle with RW Seattle’s Stephen and he yells, “I’ll pepper that guys sauce!” I have never heard anyone say that before he said it and I have never heard anyone say it since, except for me when I threaten to pepper the sauce of people who are far out of hearing range.

In this season’s Real World/Road Rules challenge, The Duel II he and his ex-housemate Adam have a gentleman’s disagreement, and from the looks of the trailer, C.T. peppers his sauce.

This time the 26 contestants will be in New Zealand battling for a share of the $300,000 cash prize. The Duel II starts Wednesday April 8th  at 10pm on MTV.

RW/RR Challenge: The Island Cast’s MySpace Pages

We never think of these people between seasons, but once they come back we remember how much we either love or hate them, and the the urge to tell them just that. Yeah MTV has their “IAmOnMTV” page, but it just doesn’t give you the same warm fuzzy feeling that you get when your favorite cast member finally adds you on myspace. Random Thoughts on Week One of The Island

Since my ADHD brain will not let me actually recap Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Island, I’ve decided to post my random thoughts that I have about each episode:

- So far things don’t seem as rough and minimalistic as they were described at the start of the show .  I honestly can say that it is hardly like Survivor in any way .  The group seems very comfortable in the house that was made for them , they have toilet paper, they actually have food they don’t have to hunt for , and seeing that they get drunk a lot , they clearly have enough water to keep them from getting dehydrated.

-Congratulations to Derek on his engagement and baby to be.

- Congratulations to Johanna for being a single woman .

- I wonder if Johanna is going to play Kenny to get ahead in the game because he’s physically a good player.  Wouldn’t that be a good strategy for all the capable calls?

- I wonder how long it will be before Abraham goes back to his old ways and goes ballistic .

- With no Beth, no Coral, and and now no Tonya, it is going to be a much quieter than previous challenges.  Sigh.

- On a happier note, it’s good to see Paula and Tonya added decent weight .

- Jen looks a lot better when she has less make up on.

Hopefully my thoughts will be more random and more interesting with each episode .  Well, maybe a little less random and maybe a lot more interesting .
