50 Cent’s reality show gets the axe from MTV

MTV learned the hard way what most of us already know: nobody wants to watch a show starring rapper 50 Cent. His hood-version of The Apprentice, titled “50 Cent’s The Money and The Power” has been canceled by the music video network, citing poor ratings as the reason.
Failing to take into account that 50 Cent is not particularly hot on the music charts right now, and has the charisma of a tree stump in a wife beater, MTV decided to go through with the reality competition show, which involved a group of poorly cast twenty-somethings proving themselves to be worthy enough to work with Fiddy, or some crap like that.
Undaunted by this failure, MTV is going to continue to stray from its music video roots by planning even more reality tv for 2009.
