Crazy James from BB 9 Talks To Reality Roll Call

Big Brother 9 fans remember Crazy James as a houseguest who was voted off the show, but voted back on by the houseguests, and went on to become a competitive force in the house. Although he didn’t win, he was voted by viewers as America’s favorite juror. Recently Reality Roll Call had a chance to talk to James and are fortunate to share it with our readers.

Faith: Crazy James I just want to thank you for giving us some time today.

James: No worries man, I know everything’s been crazy on your end and mine. So its good to be able to sit down and talk. What’s going on?

Faith: Nothing, what’s going on with you?

James: I just moved into my new place. I got a 10,000 sqaure foot loft in downtown LA. And I’m gonna be working here on some projects and also doing a lot of modeling and stuff like that with some photographers out here on the roof. And we’re also gonna be doing Sunday parties here too.

Faith: Wow. That sounds pretty cool. So, that’s a big difference from the whole plan to bike around the world. Do you still intend to get back to that?

James: Yeah, I’m working on a new tv show right now that incorporates that. And hopefully I can show people how to travel on no money to a larger audience than just the people I meet on the road.

Faith: I definitely need to learn how to do that. But otherwise what’s been going on?

James: I’ve been hanging out with Chelsia in L.A. We’re having our difficulties because everything in the house was manipulated to kind of structure a relationship between us. And now that we both have freedom is kind of hard to keep that same structured relationship. You know, you’re on the road and you’re just traveling so much. It’ll come together, and I’m not saying that I’m not gonna give it a try, but we’re just in two different places right now.

Faith: I can imagine it’s a little difficult.

James: Yeah definitely.

Faith: Do you feel like you’re getting to know her in a different way?

James: I think I’m staring to learn about people more; she’s a great person. I think I’m starting to learn more about myself too after the whole experience. And you kind of have to reflect. And not too many people get the opportunity to look at themselves for three months straight, then say, “Oh my God I did, this, this, and that.”

Faith: Yeah, that’s crazy. I guess it does lead to some introspection.

James: Yeah, it does it definitely offers experience, and the chances for introspection and growth. You know, you learn from your mistakes and go forward.

Faith: Have you actually gotten a chance watch the show?

James: I actually haven’t gotten a chance you look at ALL the shows. But you learn from it in the sense that you learn about yourself and how you interact with others. I feel that looking back that I was socially inept with some of the houseguests. I gotta be more open with people in the sense that I can’t shut people out because they have crooked views. Or that they’re just not good people; I have to embrace all of them.

Faith: It’s probably a little difficult when you’re put in that situation. In a normal situation you can just walk away and give yourself space. I imagine in that situation you’re just kind of RIGHT THERE.

James: Yeah you’re just right in the mix of everything.

Faith: In terms of the game: Last season I wrote a piece called, “Players Fatal Mistakes” where I gave my opinion of where I thought people made their mistakes (in the game). Looking back at your game, do you think you made any mistakes?

James: I think that I was just humanly genuine in that show, and you really can’t be. I don’t think I played the game inside the house as much as I should have. I played the game on the field, competition wise. I think I made the mistake of counting on my competition winning abilities more so than my winning people over. My personality is like, “I don’t really give a fuck.” You just have to walk on egg shells around these people. And you got me being naked, and slurring out the mouth with crazy ideas, and everyone’s a Christian in the house but me. So ya know, I’m gonna stand out. I’m loaded with tattoos and everyone else is kind of pretty Average Joe, and when you throw me into the mix its like, “WHAT THE FUCK!?!”

Faith: (laughs)…Well that kind of leads me to my next question. On last season’s show we had Evel Dick winning and you were extremely popular this season. Prior to that we had more middle America and apple pie type winners. What do you think it says about America now that we are going for edgier people?

James: I think that America pulls for edgier people because they are already outsiders. Right when I walked into that house I was the underdog, and the reason being that I stood out and I was an easy target. I think America connects with that because a lot of people that watch the show they feel the outsider feeling sometimes. That feeling that you got in high school when people made fun of you and that feeling when you were secluded and isolated. And that’s the same feeling that I went through and that Dick went through. People weren’t receptive to us. I think America loves to see the underdog win. And every week that I was winning those POV’s when they were trying to get me out, I think America really connected to that and were like “Yeah, fuck yeah, that kid rules!” I was absolutely shocked when I got out of the house and realized I had so many fans. It’s just ridiculous man.

Faith: It’s got to be crazy, because also in some ways they feel like the know you.

James: You know what? That’s the thing about reality TV; a lot of people manipulate how they act. Whereas I was just me, so when I walk out the house I’m the same dude that I was inside the house. I can’t say that about other cast members, but me more so because I was so open about my life. That it made me relate more to people on the outside world.

Faith: And that’s the thing: you were you. But to me the underdog is kind of a passive character and you were more “out there”. So, it’s kind of like you were an underdog, but not really…You ever consider yourself a renegade?

James: (laughs) Yeah it was kind of like a Mad Max movie. I was Mad Max battling all of these rouges on crazy operations. But I think I had a lot of power in the house and I think that’s kind of what sank my game too. People knew what I could do. When I came back out that box and I did the clean sweep that week I think people were like, “Holy shit!”

Faith: Yeah, I don’t think people were counting on that happening. Even though people feared you, you did hang in there. You were in there for quite some time.

James: Yeah, I lasted a month longer than I should have.(laughing)

Faith: It was very entertaining.

James: It showed me a lot about myself. I did end up breaking down in the house and I think that was very personable to people. Because it wasn’t because I was losing the game, it was because they were ganging up on me in a consistent way and I’m not use to that. For me to get ganged up on, and break down, and then for me to win the POV the next day was just…holy shit. It just the most amazing feeling ever, I was just shaking when I won it.

Faith: Sometimes when watching the show the conflicts get really intense. What is that like when people start going at each other with that intensity?

James: It gets crazy….I really don’t know how to explain the feeling. You kind of forget that you’re playing for $500,000. You get consumed in this whole friendship thing, and you’ve really gotta leave all that shit at the door. You’ve really gotta go in there full speed ahead and you’ve gotta pretend to be friends with people. But that’s the really hard thing about me. I can’t really pretend to be friends with people; either I like you or I don’t like you, and I’m pretty blunt about the people that I don’t like.

Faith: (laughs) Well, you did really well. The next question I want to ask you…I was looking over at your blog on MySpace and dude, you can REALLY write. did you ever think about just writing about your experiences? I know you were blogging about your bike trip. Did you ever think about putting that in a book?

James: I wanna be more in tune with people right now. I wanna put something together, but I believe there’s contract issues and you can’t write a book for a couple years. But I’m definitely thinking about putting a book together of short stories that you can read online where it doesn’t cost any money. I’m not about making money, I’m not selling my phone calls on eBay and the stuff that I am putting up on eBay goes to charity for breast cancer awareness. I can win a little bit of money but at the same time that’s gone quick. For me it’s helping while I can. It’s good, I’m happy.

Faith: I’m glad to hear it. You sound like you’ve got a good head on your shoulders and I know your world has to be very different in some ways.

James: Well, imagine coming out and being America’s favorite juror. Coming out with the fan base that I have its really ridiculous. I’m trying to be as humble and open minded to everything and trying to respond to all the messages that I get and answering all the phone calls that I get. It’s crazy, and it’s good, and I’m really blessed. Yeah, I didn’t win the game but at the same time I think I’ve won America over and I think that’s a little more important.

Faith: Before we wrap up is there anything that you want people to know that we haven’t covered?

James: I’m going to get back on my bicycle soon enough. I think that’s what really intrigued people and I’m not going to go away from that. I’m gonna stick to the bicycling, and show people that its about adventure first and then everything else. Just follow the beauty in life and everything will be fine.

Congratulations to Adam Jasinski as winner of Big Brother 9. College student Ryan Quicksall came in second place.

The cool thing about A-Balla winning is that he’s as close to a Philly boy as Big Brother has had on the show (he’s actually from Cherry Hill, NJ, but knows enough to come to Philly to party), and that he has vowed to give $100,000 of his winnings to the United Autism Foundation, unaware that he was fired and oblivious to the uproar made in the outside word regarding his “retards” comment.

Also, America voted to give Crazy James $25,000 for his trouble. He was the winner of The Most Popular Person to Not Win the Game This Season Award. Past winner’s have included Big Brother’s Janelle and Survivor’s Rupert.

It will be interesting to see how he fares in the next All Stars.

Big Brother 10 – Week 12 Update

I was pretty sad to see Natalie leave the house this Wednesday. She was just so oblivious up until right before she went home it kind of made me hope Sheila would change her mind about getting rid of her. Also, we all know she’s thinking along the lines of, “at least I’ll get to be with Matty,” again, oblivious to the obvious fact that Matt doesn’t like her like that.

But thats enough talk about the losers; lets move on to winners, like the new HoH Ryan. This is the first time that one alliance has dominated a house with five straight HoH victories to their credit. If Sheila wasn’t so scared of Natalie they could’ve wiped out the whole other alliance, but stupidly she left Sharon in the house.

It seems that Ryan might also be dumb enough to leave Sharon in the house this week. After nominating Sheila and Sharon for eviction and winning veto, Ryan and Adam think it would be a good idea to get rid of Sheila. They think that she has too many potential votes in the jury house mainly because they think Matt is her son, and she might have known James before entering the house. Needless to say, both of those accusations are false and I’ll chalk it to extreme paranoia brought on by being in the Big Brother House for 2 months+.

Come Wednesday night hopefully Adam decides to keep Sheila in the house. With her in the final 3 he’d be guaranteed a stop in the final 2. I know for a fact that Ryan would take him, and Sheila would owe him for not evicting her, plus they’d be the only couple left and there should be some loyalty there. Then again, if you keep Sharon and everyone in the jury house stays loyal to “Team Christ”(as Natalie put it), then whomever takes her to the final 2 would win. It’s definitely going to be an interesting final few weeks.

Sheila Does A Zach – Big Brother 9 Week 11 HOH

James is officially out of the Big Brother house, and once again the best competitor in a season has not won the game. Keep in mind that I’m not counting Dick and Daniele, since the general American public had a part in getting them to the end, even though they were pretty good competitors. But even if we brought them into the argument we’d have say Daniele was the best competitor and she came in second, which is still losing.

Anyway, since we’re referencing season 8, remember when Zach turned it on and surprised everyone in that tea transferring endurance competition? Well, it seems that Sheila might be doing the same thing this season. She outlasted everyone last night in the boxed in competition. Granted, it seemed like she was pretty much given the victory but it’s still a win nevertheless. Could this be the start of a dominant win streak by the mom of the house? I doubt it. But its nice to see her get a victory under her belt.

Word is she’ll nominate Sharon and Adam. We’ll let you know who actually gets nominated when it happens so check back often for the update.

Balla Bounces Into The HoH Room in Big Brother 9

James dodged a bullet once again on BB9,  and that very same bullet knocked Josh out of the Big Brother  house. On the bright side, the house has another opportunity to get rid of James this week. Adam won HoH and is the first repeat(single) HoH this season. Knowing that Adam and James are boys it’ll be interesting if he sticks with the plan and goes after him this week. I could see him going after Sharon and Sheila, but if he did Sheila would make him feel horrible for doing it. The best bet is to go after James because like I said before nobody will be able to beat him in the final two.

Crazy James Does It Again!

The pink Mohawk sporting, bike riding, veto winning James will be staying another week. As you all know he and Josh were nominated for eviction this week, with the main target being James. But like so many times before he WON THE VETO. I’m not a James fan, but he is a beast in these veto competitions, and any BB fan has to respect that. For a second I thought Natalie would try and back door him. While she had a very minimal chance of success, she should have tried. Even if he knew the plan was to back door him, he wouldn’t have competed as hard in the competition, because at the point there was a potential threat of being back doored and sent home rather than the immediately threat of already being on the block.

It’s too late to live in the past and talk about what should have been done, because the fact of the matter is that he’ll be around next week, again threating to win HOH. Everyone in the house needs to make the conscious effort to try and get rid of him, because with this win no one in the house will beat James in the end. He’s won too much and he’s been a target for too long and if he’s in the final to that’s all he’ll have to say to promote himself and no one  in the house could argue that.

Knowing the house guests this season and seeing their wacky strategies, I bet that they’ll see James as strong and try to form an alliance with him that’ll let him float for a few weeks while they pick each other off.

Bringing James back into the house 15mins after evicting him will go down as the house guests’ ultimate undoing, and one of the dumbest moves in BB history.

Big Brother 9 Week 7 Eviction/HoH/Nominations

Chelsea is out of here and good riddance I say. She went out of the house like a bitter baby. There was no reason for her to verbally attack Natalie all week, especially after her closest ally(James) in the house asked her to stop because it was going to hurt him more than it would her. But shes gone now and Natalie won HoH as most house guest do after they have a bad week prior to the competition.

bb9nat.jpg

I am rooting for Natalie to win over everyone in the house and this was a long time coming, congrats and kudos to her. The only reason I didn’t want her to win was because if she won she’d have to constantly go over the competition and tell people what was going through her mind as she was answering the questions. But hey that’s Natalie; she talks non stop and when she stops and you think shes done you realize she was just taking breath to start talking some more.

Natalie chose to nominate James and Josh for this week. James was the HoH that single handedly sent Matt packing and Josh has a history of blowing up and verbally attacking the women of the house plus he hadn’t been nominated yet so they were obvious choices. Natalie may have a secret alliance with James now although I’m not positive how that’ll work with him being nominated, but we’ll see how it plays out.

The players for the Veto Competition have already been chosen and they are Natalie, James, Josh, Sheila, Sharon, and Ryan. Adam will be no doubt be the host of the competition. Thats all the updates we have for now if something really serious goes down we’ll be sure to report it to you guys.

Big Brother 9 Week 6 Nominees/Veto Winner

week6noms.jpg

Adam has decided to place James and Chelsia on the block this week. I figured he’d either do that or place Josh on the block only because he’s never been nominated for eviction. Neither James or Chelsia are campaigning that much just yet. I think they’re waiting to see if one of them can win the POV so they don’t attack the other persons character needlessly.

Breaking News!

As I was typing this up, the Veto competition was taking place so the feeds were down. Now they’re back up, and James is walking about wearing the golden power of veto. This means Adam will have to put up a replacement nominee in next few days and I think he’ll go with Josh. If that’s the person he chooses then Chelsia may have a chance to stay, because Josh’s random outbursts towards the women in the house have rubbed everyone the wrong way. I think I’d put that aside for now; I’d  at least still vote out Chelsia if only to break up the strongest 2 person alliance in the house.

Big Brother 9 Week 6 Eviction and HoH

bb9matt.jpg

(Matt)

Time for us all to say goodbye to Matt. It’s a little hard this season to be upset when somebody gets evicted since I never really got that “they didn’t deserve to go” feeling about any of them. Yeah, Matt didn’t really do anything to warrant his eviction, but he also didn’t play the game well enough for us to say he got screwed. The only reason he left is because James felt that he was some sort of of unproven threat… But that’s enough time spent on Matty: he’s gone; lets move on.

bb9adam.jpg

(Adam)

I have got to give a shout out to A-Balla, Adam for winning HoH this week. I love when a middle of the road house guest like Adam wins HoH. No one in the house dislikes him, and he hangs out with both James/Josh’s crew and Natalie/Shelia, so if anyone other than him won HoH he was pretty much safe. Adam has been going back and forth between the two major alliances in the house ever since week 3, but once nominations roll around one half of the house will be off limits to him. Hopefully he can deal with the sudden, but always extreme change in temperament that occurs between the HoH and nominees.
