What’s Chopper Been Doing Since Making The Band

Remember six or seven years ago when Diddy did a hip-hop version of the reality series, Making The Band back in early part of this decade? Coming after the clean cut boy band O-Town,  “Da Band” made for one of the more interesting seasons of the series, as they were all self-important and extremely rough around the edges. Ultimately, Diddy broke the band up because they were too dysfunctional to operate as group.

When Diddy broke up Da Band, he chose to work with some of the members as separate acts. Rodney “Young City” Hill aka Chopper was one of those people. He signed him to Bad Boy South Records and he released a single. He must not be working with Diddy any more because he has released this video, which promotes his forthcoming cd and a reality show called “Life After the Band”.

And while you’re waiting for his album to drop, order yourself a case of Chopper Pork Skins, at his website.

In the midst of a giant recession, at least one person’s still hiring–Sean “Diddy” Combs. VH1’s “I Want to Work for Diddy” is back for its second season, and Diddy is again on the hunt for the one assistant able to meet his super-high standards. A batch of 11 new hopefuls will be granted the opportunity to battle it out for one of entertainment’s toughest jobs. “I Want to Work For Diddy 2″ premieres Monday, November 2 at 10 PM ET/PT.

After an exhaustive nationwide search, VH1 found 11 determined young men and women with the raw potential to flourish under the wing of one of the world’s most demanding CEOs. Each one-hour episode showcases a range of challenges, many based on the real life experiences of Diddy’s previous assistants.

“Last season I was hands off and left it to the judges,” says Diddy. “This season I’m taking a foot in ass, all over your brain approach to finding this assistant.”

The applicants must do their best to impress not only Diddy but an intimidating panel of judges. Back from Season 1 are: Bad Boy executive Phil Robinson, Diddy’s ultimate henchman, and former Diddy assistant Capricorn Clark, now global brand director for Sean “Diddy” Combs.

This season they will be joined by Diddy’s mentor, the renowned business entrepreneur Andre Harrell, founder and president of Uptown Records. Throughout the season, Diddy will share his business acumen with viewers by setting up a series of challenges that test the skills of business efficiency and perseverance.

Beginning Monday, October 26, fans can catch a sneak peek of the season’s first episode on VH1.com – one week before the on-air premiere. Subsequent episodes will be available on VH1.com the morning after they air. Additional video content from “I Want to Work for Diddy 2″ including extras from each episode will be available on VH1.com and on VH1 Mobile throughout the season.

Aubrey was kicked out of Danity Kane by Diddy for not being wholesome enough(I cleaned it up), and she proved them right by doing a spread in PlayBoy. Going by her recent interview with Chelsea Handler, I don’t think there with be a Danity Kane reunion anytime soon, but I think this was a fair trade.

Dawn Richard is shattered by Danity Kane break up

January 30, 2009 by Faith Whitfield
Filed under Making The Band, Reality TV

danitykaneRemaining Danity Kane member Dawn Richard is devastated by the disbanding of the group last fall. The group, which was put together by music mogul Diddy, on a season of MTV’s Making the Band, lost members Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods after they were fired. Not soon after, singer Shannon Bex quit, making Danity Kane a duo, with Richard and Aundrea Fimbres remaining.

Now that the band is history, the two young women will attempt to pull it all together and launch a new chapter in their musical careers on the next season of Making the Band, on MTV.

She told MTV.com: “You’ll see me and Drea (Fimbres) try and pick up the pieces on our own – pieces that we didn’t even make. We didn’t even break it and we’re trying to sweep it up ourselves. It changes (our situation) completely. We’re sitting here trying to make sense of it now. It’s hard. We’re put in this position that we didn’t ask to be in and we’re being told to fix it.”

The next season of Making the Band starts February 12th on MTV.

Making the Band Will Be Back in 2009 to Answer the Unanswered Questions

From MTV:

With the future of Danity Kane still up in the air, Day26 pursuing their dreams and Donnie Klang working his way to the top, where do they go from here? MTV is extending the drama into 2009 with bonus episodes of the hit reality series “Making The Band.” The saga will continue with the remaining members of Danity Kane, their label mates Day26 and Donnie Klang as they all embark on the next phases of their Bad Boy careers.

The extended season will pick-up where the last one left off, following all the drama and turmoil from the cliffhanger on the live finale. Fans will catch-up with Day26 as they go out on their own and experience what it’s like to be the opening act for more established recording artists. Can they stay focused and make it on their own without the support of their label mates? Donnie Klang will continue to strive and prove to Diddy that he has what it takes to be a solid solo artist and go on tour with more well known musical acts. Will the hectic pace of the music business put too much strain on Dawn and Que’s romance or will it make their love stronger? The Danity Kane story will continue to unfold after Diddy’s shocking decision to remove Aubrey and D. Woods from the group. Will the Band live on without them? Will Aubrey and D. Woods return to Danity Kane? The bonus episodes will follow MTV’s favorite “Making The Band” artists as they give it all they have while trying to remain true to themselves in the process.

J Lo Signs on With TLC for a Reality Show

Jennifer Lopez wants us all in her business again. She has signed on to do a reality show on TLC, according to Access Hollywood.

J.Lo, who does not want to be called J.Lo anymore, wanted everyone to mind their own business since marrying Latin singer Skeletor…I mean, Marc Anthony. She even tried to conceal her pregnancy, even though she was a big as a house. But now that she has birthed them babies and pimped them in People magazine, we can soon tune in every week and invade the privacy of her and her family.

Unfortunately, watching her live her life hasn’t been as interesting since she stopped hanging out with the likes of Diddy and Ben Afleck. Settling down does that to a person. Ben Afleck is pretty damn dull as well, then again, he always was. He just had us fooled.

But I digress. Jennifer’s show is going to show her as she tries to develop a new fragrance and raise her two babies, and tighten up the bolts in the sides of Marc Anthony’s neck.

No word yet on what the show will be called or when it will be aired.
