Big Brother Week 9 – Jeff Gets Got!

Well, this season of Big Brother just went down the tubes. Not only did Jeff get evicted tonight, Natalie just won HoH. Then, to top it all off, she brought up Chima and said it was for her. I think it’s pretty obvious that the nominees this week will be Jordan and Michele. Not that it matters. The real power this week lies in the hands of the Veto winner, which I hope and pray is either Michele or Jordan. But with the way things went tonight I have a good feeling that Kevin will win the veto and evict Michele and Jordan will be left to fend for herself against both Natalie and Kevin.

That’s pretty much all I have to say about this week. It was nice seeing the standing ovation that Jeff got, and how Julie seemed genuinely happy to meet him. I guess he’ll walk into the Jury House tomorrow and have Lydia scream out “Karma is a bitch!” which should leave her to only be disappointed by Jeff’s response when he just laughs it off.

I never got that whole “Karma is a bitch” thing people say in the BB house.  It perplexes me because it’s usually said to somebody who played the game pretty much straight up and didn’t screw over the person who’s attacking them with the phrase. I guess it just goes back to that house makes people crazy, turning logic and sanity into words that lose all meaning after week 4.

Big Brother 11 Week 4 Live Eviction – Ronnie Gets Owned

Let me start by saying Jeff winning the Coup D’etat is pure awesomeness. I always find it funny when people in the BB house have a mystery power and Julie mentions it, and everyone just looks around normally while the person who has the power does their best to look around casually and as a result they look the most suspicious. It’s almost as awkward as yelling out that you don’t have the power.

Now is it me, or are the non-cliche hateful final words just before eviction  votes are cast  becoming more cliche in the fact that they’ll certainly be hateful? Doesn’t anyone want to leave with dignity any more? Has being a gracious loser suddenly gone out of style? They claim to enjoy the game then take elementary shots at each other while voting, leaving or even in their goodbye messages. Come on house guests, let’s get back to game play and accept when you’ve been outplayed. Sure, being angry about being lied to during the game is cool, but I see evicition as a “timeout.” Yeah, you make a decision that affects the game, but you don’t need to air your dirty laundry since by that time everyone’s choices have been made.

Tonight Ronnie was evicted from the house in a 3-4 vote. It felt like he’d been avoiding eviction for weeks, but in reality it was only one week (not counting week 2 since he had HoH). There was just something about the way that he played the game that I just didn’t like at all. I may have been how he talked down to people that he felt he was smarter than, or it could have been how he had a bad habit of bringing up fights and interactions from previous seasons and getting the details wrong. Whatever the reason may be,  I’m just glad he’s gone. That brings me to my next topic: HoH.

Congratulations, Chima. You are safe from eviction this week, and that’s it. Your nominations won’t mean a thing as long as Jeff keeps his mouth shut about the Coup D’etat. I look forward to what I suspect will be a weekend filled with burned bridges and bad blood. Topped off with a shocked look as either Jessie or Natalie are evicted next Thursday.

The 11th Season Of Big Brother Kicks Off Tonight!

bigbrotherCBS’ summer social experiment Big Brother is back for another season. Tonight we learned that this time it’ll feature 12 original house guests who will be separated into cliques: popular, athletes, brainiacs, and off-beats. Each clique is made up of 3 house guests, and the rules are that  if a member of your clique wins hOh the whole clique is safe from eviction for the week.

One of the many twists this season is the introduction of a past house guest into the game. The first competition was called  “The Wedgie” and  Julie let the house guests know that whichever clique won HoH would have a past house guest as a representative  clique enter the game. The past houseguests were Brian(Season 10), Jessica (Season 8), Michael”Cowboy” (Season 5), and Jessie (Season 10). With Natalie of the Atheletes clique being able to withstand the wedgie(and occasional atomic wedgie) longer than any other house guest she won HoH and immunity for her clique, and as a result she  unknowingly brought Jessie back in the house.

It’ll be interesting to see if Jessie comes in with the same attitude that rubbed so many people the wrong way last season, or if he decides to tone it down just a bit. Considering that he was at his worst last season while he was HoH we’ll be getting the answer to that question sooner than later.

Big Brother 10: Week 9 Eviction and HoH

Tonight we had to say goodbye to the Renny, the 53 year old beauty salon owner from New Orleans. Now the house is without comic relief, and good food. Sure, Dan can be funny, but he needs somebody to play off of and there’s nobody left. Now I don’t care who wins the game this season.

With Dan winning HoH, he seems like he’s pretty much a lock to get to the final two. He’ll win the endurance part of the final HoH competition, and he’ll easily beat anyone in the final “Did they, or didn’t they?” competition. The question now is: will he or won’t he win? What votes will he have when  the dust settles? Based on his actions in the game I’d say he has maybe Libra’s vote. And that’s assuming he and Memphis are in the final two.

So as we sit and wait for the fat guy to move off of the clue, I want you guys to post what votes you think Dan will get if he and Memphis make it to the final two.

Big Brother 10: Week 6 Veto Spoilers

With Renny’s nominations of Jerry, and April, there’s nobody in the house other than them or Ollie that would change the nominations if they won veto. I don’t think it takes a rocket scientist to see that that’s pretty bad odds for the nominees, at least a first glance anyway. If we run down the list of remaining house guests it looks like the nominees would have a pretty good chance of winning the veto…

Renny: She’s smart, but if it’s something extremely physical that requires speed, she’ll be a long shot to win it. All she’s won this season was the HoH competition.

Keesha: She’s a really good competitor,  but she can’t seem to get over that hump that makes her a dominant force in competitions. If memory serves me right she only won HoH once.

Memphis: He’s a ticking time bomb in my opinion. He hasn’t won anything other than luxury items so far. But, when a luxury item is up for grabs he makes sure that he wins it. If he could apply that to the IMPORTANT competitions he could be a problem. There are some key questions we have to ask about him this week. Will he compete for veto? Will there be prizes that would distract him from the veto? Does he even care to win it? Who knows…

Dan: He likes to typically “throw” competitions in an attempt to make himself look less like a threat. I wonder if he is going to end up like Dr. Will and throw competitions so much that when he actually tries  to win, he can’t.

Michelle: She has the ability to win this week, and definitely the motivation. There is a good chance that if one of the nominees were to come off the block, she’d be the replacement nominee. She’s one of those players that gets a break every once in a while, but more times than not she falls just short of victory.

Ollie: Let’s be real; he sucks. He is a nice enough guy, but when it comes to competitions he has proven to be totally useless. Maybe with his girl friend?…err showmance?…um bang buddy..ehh April in trouble he’ll turn into a new house guest that wins competitions.

April: She’s got enough confidence in herself to drive her to victory, but in her eyes she also has the “choke” factor. If she comes out with the win I wouldn’t be too shocked.

Jerry: Winner of the last two Veto competitions, Jerry is obviously the Big Brown of the competition, but I think just like Big Brown he’s due to have an upset.

After the smoke from the veto competition settled there was one man left standing, Dan! Seeing as we couldn’t see the competition I’m not sure how he came to win the veto. He might’ve won it outright, but with his history of “throwing” competitions, I think he fell backwards into it. It’s gonna be fun seeing if Jerry tries to talk Dan into using the veto him tonight, even though I don’t think his pride would let him. Also there isn’t any need for him to suck up to Dan since April is the house’s target.

Big Brother 10: Week 5 Eviction and HoH

Tonight Libra was evicted from the Big Brother house, and as a result she has become the first member of the jury. When I saw that fight with her and Jessie last week, I knew she’d be going this week. Her big mouth ultimately led to her downfall. I’m not a fan of hers, but I will miss the funny looks she’d get on her face when certain things were said.

I’m now interested to see what kind of damage the newly formed Renegades(Memphis and Dan) can do in the house. But I’ll have to wait another week to see if they get power because Renny is the new HoH. Renny hasn’t had any really big blowouts with anyone in the house. We know she doesn’t see eye to eye with Jerry, so that gives us one potential  nomination, but the second one is a toss up. She could go the safe route, and nominate Michelle, but I’d like to see her make a strong play and nominate April. The real game of Big Brother starts because what Renny does this week will set the house up for a mad dash to the finish.

Jerry Is The Chosen One: Big Brother 10 Season Premiere

July 13, 2008 by Chris

The season starts like any season of Big Brother, with the house guests lined up silently in front of the Big Brother house. Then, not five minutes into show, Julie says the house guests are going to choose the HoH before they even enter the house. Immediately, I,  like the majority of viewers thought that Jerry

would make the best HoH at this point in the game. For one he’s old and…well, he’s  old and thereby not a threat.

Once the house guests started filing into the house, they quickly began to realize that Renny is crazy. But not in that wacky, do anything, Crazy James way; she’s crazy in that “Natalie please stop talking”, kind of way. After all of the greetings and pleasantries were exchanged, the house guests headed outside for their first food/luxury competition.

Outside in the backyard there were two VW Beetles hanging upside, down connected to two tracks. The house guests had to split up into two teams, while one person sat out in order for the teams to be even. Jessie the “100% natural body” chose to sit out in an attempt to make people think he wasn’t a threat, ya know, because he’s soooo huge and intimidating.

Every player on both teams had to  climb into their respective upside down cars, and pull themselves from one end of the track to retrieve a gas container. Then they had pull themselves all the way back to the starting point to let one person out with the gas container. They’d repeat that process until the last person in the car crossed the finish line with the gas container. The winning team got to eat food for the week, and the losing team got put on slop. The twist to the whole competition is that the last person in the car from the winning team would win one of two classic muscle cars(either ‘69′ Camaro or a ‘66 Mustang). After a quick game of rock, paper, scissors between Steven and Memphis, its decided that Memphis would be the last one in the car. About thirty seconds after that Memphis crossed the finish line giving the red team the victory,  winning himself a Camaro and giving everyone a valid reason for evicting him later in the game.

Once everyone got back in the house, Julie announced that Jerry had been chosen as the first HoH this season. Even though he only got 4 votes everyone seemed genuinely happy to see him win it. When the house guests finally got some time to soak in what just happened, Dan decided it was time build an alliance. He went to work on both Ollie and Brian recruiting them into his alliance. At first glance it seems like Dan is the leader, but if you look a little closer Brian is the one in charge. When all is said and done, Brian will play Dan and Ollie right out of the house if they let his influence grow  too much.

With that said, Brian has already worked his magic on Jerry by  getting him to nominate Renny and the super intimidating, 100% natural body building, non threat, reality show vet Jessie for eviction. Jerry said that both of them would self destruct and he is absolutely correct. Jessie’s desire to play down his size and keep a low profile might lead to him isolating himself, which could get him sent home. If he’s smart he’ll just buddy up to the guys and let Renny annoy her way out of the house. She comes on pretty strong, and I’m sure being around her 24/7 isn’t easy, and people may just vote her out because they are just tired of dealing with her.

If both nominees take cues from each other they’d have their best chance to stay in the house. Jessie just needs to pep up and Renny needs to turn it down a notch, and they’ll make the choice for the house guest a lot harder.

As usual I’ll keep you all posted if anything happens on the live feeds so check back often.

Big Brother 9 Week 6 Eviction and HoH

bb9matt.jpg

(Matt)

Time for us all to say goodbye to Matt. It’s a little hard this season to be upset when somebody gets evicted since I never really got that “they didn’t deserve to go” feeling about any of them. Yeah, Matt didn’t really do anything to warrant his eviction, but he also didn’t play the game well enough for us to say he got screwed. The only reason he left is because James felt that he was some sort of of unproven threat… But that’s enough time spent on Matty: he’s gone; lets move on.

bb9adam.jpg

(Adam)

I have got to give a shout out to A-Balla, Adam for winning HoH this week. I love when a middle of the road house guest like Adam wins HoH. No one in the house dislikes him, and he hangs out with both James/Josh’s crew and Natalie/Shelia, so if anyone other than him won HoH he was pretty much safe. Adam has been going back and forth between the two major alliances in the house ever since week 3, but once nominations roll around one half of the house will be off limits to him. Hopefully he can deal with the sudden, but always extreme change in temperament that occurs between the HoH and nominees.

Big Brother 9 Week 4 Recaps/Spoilers

March 9, 2008 by Chris

Its the time we’ve all(or at least I) have been waiting for, the splitting up of the couples. Since I’m pretty late with my recaps this week I’m gonna cover everything that happened this week from the eviction, new HOH, Nominations, Veto winner and the replacement nomination so lets get things started.

It was a sad moment for Allison last Wednesday when she was evicted from the Big Brother house 2-0. Then she was shocked like the rest of us when she was told the couples would be broken up and now the rest of the house would be voting out either her or Ryan. Thats one of those moments when you think you might have chance to stay but maybe, just maybe the house was voting you out because they didn’t like your partner. Well needless to say that was the case the only problem was that the house was voting out Ryan because they hated Allison and with them no longer teamed up they were free to vote out Allison 6-0. Being evicted twice in one night must really suck, but its not as bad as being evicted three times ain’t that right KAAAYSAAAAR!

As everyone attempted to decompress from their recent forced divorces Ryan won the HOH competition in typical Big Brother “I was on the block the previous week” fashion and with that season 9 of Big Brother officially began.

Right off the bat Sheila got as far away from Adam as possible while Matt continued to sleep in the same bed with Natalie despite saying he would get away from her the first chance he got.

Spoilers Below!!

Ryan and Matt have been hanging out all week which  isn’t out of the norm since they would hang out and work out together before now. But of course there are people in the house who failed to notice their friendship up until now and naturally Matt is “sucking up” to Ryan because he’s afraid of being nominated.  With that James, Josh, Chelsia, Sharon, and Sheila decided to get Matt nominated. The only problem is that they decided that AFTER Ryan nominated Sharon and Chelsia for eviction.

Once Chelsia won the power of veto they decided to try and get Matt back doored using scare tactics. Once Sheila found out about the back dooring plan she began distancing themselves from the group because she could see their plan wasn’t going to work.

I’ve always wondered why people try and get the HOH to nominate the people their closest to for eviction with the threat of the whole house targeting them the following week. The only time I remember one of those threats working was when Boogie threatened Chicken George with the coup de’ ta and got him to get rid of Howie.

While Josh and crew were making threats and trashing people left and right they failed to realize that their alliance had broken down just as quickly as it formed and nobody but a select few were still talking about Matt getting back doored. Instead the topic of the rest of the house turned to back dooring James. As with most things in the Big Brother house if the whole house is whispering about something it usually happens. So earlier today at the veto ceremony James was blindsided when Ryan put him on the block as the replacement nominee.

Josh and Chelsia decided they were going to be jerks to the rest of the house and Josh has even decided to try and get punched in the face by Matt to try and send him home that way. As of right now they haven’t really started “going off” on people but if anything really good happens I’ll be sure to update and let you all know.

Big Brother 9 Week 3 HoH

As I am I’m sure many of you predicted Amanda and Alex went home. There’s not much guess work to be done as far as evictions go this season because there aren’t many votes to go around. This is the second actual eviction and all a nominee needed was 2 votes to stay instead of the 7 needed in past seasons, but I guess that what happens when you have couples.

joshnsharon.jpg

Josh and Sharon won HoH in dominating fashion not giving anyone a chance to answer a question. Ok, they did give Ryan a chance to answer a question but he looked dazed and confused and ultimately got the answer wrong eliminating himself. Josh is the player I least wanted to see win HoH because he had a habit of talking like he was better than people before he won HoH and now you know that this power will go straight to his head. Hopefully Sharon can keep him grounded enough that he doesn’t anger the rest of the house during their week in power.
