NBC Extends the “Celebrity” Insanity to Two Hours Tonight

NBC announced today that “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!,” the hot summer series, has been extended to a two-hour edition next Wednesday, June 10 from 8-10 p.m. (ET). This joins the previously announced two-hour installment set for Monday, June 8. On Tuesday evening, June 9, the network will be showcasing exciting NHL coverage of game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals between the Detroit Red Wings and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Next week’s exciting episodes will showcase Heidi and Spencer’s nightmarish adventure inside the creature-infested “Lost Chamber” and the fate of their return. Meanwhile, the hazardous conditions of living in the jungle come to the forefront and begin to take their toll on our celebrities.
The series airs Mondays-Thursdays in its regular 8-9 p.m. time slot until the final week of the show, with the finale on Wednesday, June 24 (8-9 p.m. ET). In addition, each Sunday beginning June 7, MTV will air a marathon of the week’s episodes including never-before-seen footage and commentary from cast members in real time, providing an enhanced viewing experience for die-hard fans.
NBC Adds Damien Fahey and Myleen Klass to I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here

NBC announced today that Damien Fahey and Myleene Klass will serve as co-hosts for its new, groundbreaking, live summer television event “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” that kicks off on Monday, June 1 with a two-hour special from 8-10 p.m. (ET).
Fahey is known to audiences as the host of MTV’s “Total Request Live (“TRL”) where many of today’s A-list celebrities and musicians personally requested him for interviews. A talented and dedicated broadcaster, Fahey has hosted numerous radio and television shows including “Live! With Regis & Kelly,” where he has been called upon as a recurring host. Recruited by MTV for its “Beach House” segments, he was quickly promoted to “TRL” host in 2002, where he held the distinction of being the only veejay to simultaneously host and write for the show.
Myleene Klass is one of the biggest stars in the United Kingdom and was a participant herself in the 2006 version of “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!” that propelled her to a successful career where she was “Queen of the Jungle” and the top searched-for celebrity in the world by the United Kingdom Internet users. The multi-talented Klass is a television host, entertainer and musician. In 2001, she was chosen from thousands of singing hopefuls to become one of five members of the reality pop band Hear’Say, winners of the singing competition show “Popstars,” that went on to sell two million CDs.
“We are so fortunate to have both of these incredible talents lend their wit, wisdom and experience to the show and they will serve as the prefect compliment to our celebrity participants” said Jayson Dinsmore, executive producer of “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”
In a unique scheduling move, following the two-hour premiere on June 1, “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” will air over four weeks in June from 8-9 p.m. (ET). For three weeks, the show will air Mondays through Thursdays. During the fourth week of June, the series will be telecast Monday through Wednesday, with the finale being telecast on Wednesday, June 24.
Water-Borne Illness Strikes I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here

The crew of the NBC reality show I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here have become seriously ill after drinking water from river near the set.
After drinking water near the filming location in Horquetas de Sarapiquí, Costa Rica, 20 members of the crew began to suffer from vomiting and diarrhea, according to Inside CostaRica.com.
According to the source, the situation could worsen if a quarantine is declared in Northern Costa Rica.
I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here is scheduled to begin filming in early June. The cast includes reality television couple Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt from The Hills, who just returned to the U.S. after spending time in Cabo San Lucas during the Swine Flu outbreak.
NBC Announces the Cast of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

NBC announced today casting for its new groundbreaking live summer television event “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” premiering Monday, June 1.
Cast members will include: Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (stars of MTV’s “The Hills”), NBA great and TV personality John Salley (“Best Damned Sports Show Period”), supermodel and TV star Janice Dickinson (“The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency”), 2007 “American Idol” contestant Sanjaya Malakar, actor Stephen Baldwin (“The Usual Suspects”) and professional wrestler and beauty queen Torrie Wilson. Additional celebrity contestants will be named soon along with the hosts of the show.
“I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” is the ultimate “Swiss Family Robinson” as 10 celebrities will be dropped into the heart of the jungle to face fun and comedic challenges designed to test their survival skills. America is the puppet master, controlling their favorite celebrities by putting them into challenges and tasks to win food, supplies and luxury items. In each episode, friendships will be tested, hilarity will ensue and viewers will decide which celebrities stay or go. The last remaining star will be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle, winning a substantial cash prize for their favorite charity.
In a unique scheduling move, “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” will air at 8 p.m. over four weeks in June. The new series will debut as a two-hour television event on Monday, June 1 (8-10 p.m. ET) and will follow with broadcasts on Mondays through Thursdays (8-9 p.m. ET) for the first three weeks.
