The Bachelor’s Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney are getting married, or at least planning to get married. Jason proposed again, off camera, in New Zealand to his reality show choice Molly Malaney.
Jason caused a fan uproar when during the Bachelor reunion show, “After the Final Rose”, he dumped his first choice Melissa Rycroft for the runner-up, Molly. The couple went back to the location where he chose Rycroft, so that he could “make the right choice.” It was there that he proposed to Malaney.
Melissa Rycroft went on to star in Dancing With the Stars. She is currently engaged to insurance agent Tye Strickland, whom she had been dating off and on for two years.

Jillian Harris, the intelligent, independent, passionate woman who fell just short of her goal — hoping that Jason Mesnick could be her best friend, soul mate and future husband on the just completed hit season of “The Bachelor” — will have her own opportunity to find true love, starring in the fifth edition of “The Bachelorette,” which will premiere MONDAY, MAY 18 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on ABC . The announcement was made last night on “The Bachelor: After the Final Rose, Part 2” special.
An instant fan favorite on the last edition of “The Bachelor,” Jillian, 29, a restaurant interior designer who currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia, came oh-so-close to being the woman Jason selected. She scored points with him the first night she met him. Finding a creative new way to “grill” a guy, Jillian disclosed her unusual theory about discovering a lot about a man from the condiments he puts on his hot dog, and she immediately put Jason to the test. Her adventurous spirit and resourceful, resilient manner of handling a stressful family situation impressed Jason, who fit in with her wonderful and warm family. He invited her to New Zealand as one of the final three women, but even after she and Jason shared one of the steamiest hot tubs in Bachelor history, he still questioned whether their chemistry would last over time and sent her home.
Enthusiastic about her work and life in general, Jillian is ready to find her best friend and settle down and is confident that she can find the love of her life on “The Bachelorette.” Jillian is an only child and is excited at the thought of starting her own family.
Jillian, a native of Peace River, Alberta, Canada, graduated from British Columbia Institute of Technology with a degree in interior design. In her spare time she volunteers in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program as a school tutor and mentor.

Is it time for the hometown visit already? Jason Mesnick takes the girls back home to meet the family:
The pressure is really on, as Jason struggles to decide which four women he’ll escort home to meet their families. But first, a surprise visit to the Bachelor’s hometown of Seattle awaits the five remaining bachelorettes a chance to check out their potential future home. Jason takes one woman on a romantic one-on-one date on a houseboat and escorts three of the bachelorettes on a ferry ride around Seattle and then to a revealing live radio interview. On the final crucial individual date, the handsome single dad chooses one of the ladies to take a fanciful flight on a seaplane over Seattle before sharing some intimate alone time together. However, Jason has more surprises in store for the women and breaks the rules at the rose ceremony to come to his difficult decision.
After a brief reunion with his son, Ty, Jason welcomes the women to Seattle. The lucky woman, who receives the one-on-one date card, is delighted that Jason will show her his hometown in style. However, Jason’s parental duties take precedence when Ty needs him at home and he must make a last minute change in plans.
The next day, three of the bachelorettes meet Jason on the deck of a ferry for a sunset cruise around Puget Sound. The Bachelor offers some special alone time to one of the ladies to join him in the captain’s quarters to steer the boat and steal a kiss. But Jason seeks some outside help with his decision, taking the group to KISS-FM to be interviewed on one of the top-rated radio shows in Seattle. The Bachelor enlists the help of the two local DJs, Jackie and Bender, a married couple, to get some frank advice on love, marriage and intimacy. They quiz Jason and the women on love and romance and even set up a kissing contest much to the shock of the other two women listening back at the hotel. Jason rewards the three women with a wonderful late night meal, attempting to have an honest talk with one bachelorette about their relationship. He pulls another woman aside for a romantic walk by the bay.
On a picturesque seaplane ride over Seattle, Jason points out to the fortunate woman who gets the last one-on-date the highlights of the city she might one day call home. The bachelorette also demonstrates her more adventurous side as she races Jason to the top of a giant climbing wall, where they share a mid-air kiss. Later she opens up to him about her family and her feelings for him. A “hot” fireside snuggle ends the evening.
Still unsure of his decision, Jason pays a surprise visit to the ladies’ hotel and pulls one woman aside for a heart-to-heart talk. Then at the rose ceremony, Jason breaks the rules and seeks out another bachelorette for a final talk. In the end, he must narrow the field to just four women the four who will invite him into their families’ homes while one woman leaves in one of the most emotional rose ceremonies ever.
The five women are:
Jillian, 29, an interior designer from Peace River, Alberta, Canada
Melissa, 25, a sales representative from Dallas, TX
Molly, 24, a department store buyer from Grand Rapids, MI
Naomi, 24, a flight attendant from Carlsbad, CA
Stephanie, 34, a single mom (daughter, Sophia, age four) and a medical marketing representative from Huntsville, AL

Every now and again a spoiler leaks out onto the internet, and some loosed-lipped contestant on a reality show spills the beans on the winner of the show. Sometimes they’re right; sometimes they’re talking out of their Fruit of the Looms.
This time, it may be ABC themselves who mess up and reveal Jason Mesnick’s choice on this season of The Bachelor. Look at the video, and tune in for the season finale to see if this anal-retentive viewer is right.
By the way, the only show on ABC that warrants this much video scrutiny is LOST.

(Press Release)
JASON MESNICK GETS A SECOND CHANCE AT LOVE WHEN HE STARS IN “THE BACHELOR,” RETURNING TO ABC IN JANUARY 2009
Jason Hopes the “Third Time is the Charm”
Millions of viewers were stunned when DeAnna Pappas rejected Jason Mesnick’s proposal, as he dropped to one knee to profess his love in the season finale of “The Bachelorette.” Brokenhearted and wondering how he could have misjudged DeAnna’s intentions, Jason’s female fans flocked to support him, helping him heal from his very public dismissal. Now this handsome single dad will star in his own bid for true love, choosing from among 25 bachelorettes when “The Bachelor” returns to ABC in January 2009. This will be the 13th edition of ABC’s popular romance reality series.
Jason, 32, became a huge viewer favorite during the chase to win DeAnna’s heart, and his popularity seemed to vault even higher when he lost out to Jesse Csincsak — who is now engaged to Pappas — as fans rushed to e-mail him in droves, in total sympathy to his plight. Jason still believes in destiny and that he can find love through “The Bachelor,” as he discovered when he fell for DeAnna. His heart-warming story as a single father from Seattle with a three-year-old son, Ty – the apple of his eye – struck a chord with many women. Divorced two years ago, Jason would like to start another family, himself the middle son in a family of three boys. His older brother, Sean, is married with children. Jason currently lives with his younger brother, Larry, and with Ty. His parents are divorced and both are happily remarried.
An account executive in estate and legacy planning, Jason is looking for a woman who has a real curiosity about the world, who loves life and can find passion in life’s smallest moments. Open and honest, the good-looking and appealing Bachelor loves a variety of sports, including swimming, golf, basketball and football. In fact he used to be a golf professional at a local club. He has traveled all over Europe and continues to pursue his desire to see the world. In his spare time, he takes guitar and swing dance lessons. Perhaps not surprisingly, Jason is a “big brother” for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America. A philanthropist himself, he hopes to some day form and run his own children’s charity.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Jason moved to Washington at the age of eight and received his BA in psychology at the University of Washington.
