Bravo Heads to D.C. for More Real Housewives

Today, Bravo announced that a spin-off of its hit docu-series franchise “The Real Housewives,” is in development, this time set in the influential metropolitan region of Washington, D.C. The announcement was made by Frances Berwick, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Bravo Media.

“We’re tapping personalities who are among Washington D.C.’s influential players, cultural connoisseurs, fashion sophisticates and philanthropic leaders – the people who rub elbows with the most prominent people in the country and easily move in the city’s diverse political and social circles,” said Berwick.

A place for power and politics, Bravo is scouting the D.C. area to identify the city’s alluring and discriminating residents, those women who have their pulse on the most important cultural events, political galas, gallery openings and fundraisers in Washington society. These leading members of D.C. society are in the know and comfortable discussing everything from the economy to high fashion. They are the talk of the town in the most powerful city in the world.

Bravo has tapped Half Yard Productions to develop this project.

Kelly throws a Halloween Party on Real Housewives of NYC

On this week’s episode, airing Tuesday, April 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, all of the Housewives attend Kelly’s Halloween Party, but much to their surprise, the hostess seems to be otherwise engaged. LuAnn’s daughter Victoria comes home from boarding school for the weekend, and the two splurge on a shopping trip. Ramona is busy making a demo reel for her jewelry line that will be sold on HSN. Meanwhile, the van Kempens prepare for Halloween with their kids by carving pumpkins and decorating the stoop at their Brooklyn home.

Real Housewife of NYC is being sued over jewelry line

Kelly Killoren Bensimon of the Bravo reality show the Real Housewives of NYC is having a rough spring. First, she gets arrested for beating up her boyfriend, giving him a black eye and a split cheek. Then she  loses her modeling job with Saks, and  is suddenly desperate to sell her house in the Hamptons. And now she’s being sued over an owl.

According to sources, Bensimon is being sued by a friend and former Elle magazine c0-worker over an owl pendant that they were supposed to produce together and split the profits. 

Celeste Greenberg says that she and the reality show star had an oral agreement to work together on the owl project, but Ms. Bensimon took the idea and used it for her own jewelry line instead.

According to Page Six, Bensimon’s rep says that Greenberg’s accusations are without merit:

 “This girl used to work at Elle Accessories with Kelly. Kelly went out of her way to book her for freelance gigs. They went their separate ways. Now she’s coming after her because she needs money and Kelly’s name is in the press. There’s no validity to this. They never had an agreement about anything.”

Real Housewife of NYC Alex McCord is looking for work

Hard times have fallen, at least temporarily, on Real Housewives of NYC’s Alex McCord.  She has just been released from her job in visual merchandising at Victoria’s Secret, according to the National Ledger. You didn’t think that because they were on a show called “Real Housewives,” they actually sat around the house all day, did you? Housewives are virtually extinct.

“It was definitely a very big surprise. My own immediate supervisor didn’t even know it was happening,” says Alex, who lost her job when the company cut 10 percent of its home-office workforce recently. Though her last day of work was Feb. 27, Alex isn’t wasting any time trying to find a job. “It’s really interesting to see where to go from here. I’ve been making calls, updating my résumé, and sitting down with people and chatting. I’m exploring all of my options.”
