According to Contact Music, Christopher Ciccone, brother of pop icon (and Guy Ritchie’s future ex) Madonna, is shopping a reality show based on growing up as her brother.

Ciccone, who is also allegedly writing an unauthorized memoir about Madonna’s life, says that the reality show will focus on the fact that he is her brother.

Ok, so you’re Madonna’s brother, and right now you two aren’t on the best of terms. So what? That is not the stuff of a reality show. No one cares about Madonna’s brother’s life. We haven’t given that much of a crap about Madonna in a decade, to tell you the truth.

…Looks like somebody needs some money.

Update: Sources say that Ciccone’s reality show will not be about life with his sister. It will be a design show.

As you heard last week Janet Jackson is doing her own reality show. Now I’m here to let you all you aspiring dancers and singers know how you can compete to become Janet Jackson’s protégé.

The competition is open to Males and Females that are at least 16 years old, but you have to appear to be between 16 and 22. You can take that to mean that you can be a young 25 or even 30. Another must for this competition is that you need to have superior talent in both singing and dancing. It it sounds like I’m describing you then this competition is right up your alley. There will be open calls taking place in Chicago, New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles.

I can tell it’s really going to be highly structured and serious. Either that or she is going to be naked all the time.

So You Think You Can Dance hits the competition phase of its fourth season, and Fox is chomping at the bit to clinch the title of America’s Favorite Summer Reality Show. But with slim pickings on network channels and a two hour run, they don’t have much competition. Cat Deeley opens the show in her usual short, shiny and weird dress—this time it’s silver—and Nigel tells her she looks amazing, and she responds “I’ve only been in make-up for one and half hours.” Thank you Cat for being humble; you get a slow clap.

As Cat introduces the judges, she asks them their thoughts on a front runner. They all agree that there is none. They go into a montage of the dancer’s auditions with the usual cheesy music that is supposed to invoke emotions before finally starting with the performances. If you don’t know how the show works, the dancers perform first as couples, and then the couples with the fewest votes must dance for their lives. The judges decide who stays.

Ask anyone in the African-American community and they will tell you that nothing is funnier than the wacky hi-jinks that result when you mix an innocent black man and the police. And any man will attest to hilarity of being falsely accused of statutory rape. And of course, we’ve all heard the side-splitting stories of what can go wrong when Americans are arrested for serious crimes overseas. So, when comedian Chris Rock was arrested while on tour in South Africa for having sex with a British minor, as part as a prank for a U.S. reality show, I’m sure he laughed till he peed his pants. Minus the laughing.

The unnamed show went all out for this asinine prank; hiring an actor to play a fake prosecutor who appeared in court to demand that Rock be prosecuted and jailed. Fortunately, the court did not go along with the “joke”. Rock caught wind of his impending legal troubles and immediately hired lawyers to investigate the charges. I’m still wondering when it was going to get funny.

Actor Matthew McConaughey’s brother Rooster is planning to launch himself into the limelight by starring in an upcoming episode of a U.S. reality TV series.
Rooster, real name Michael Patrick, is set to appear in an episode of Discovery Channel series Deadliest Catch next month (18Jun08). A pipe supplier for oil rigs in his family’s native Texas, the 54-year-old will be followed by a camera crew for the segment on the series, which takes a glimpse into the lives of men with some of the most dangerous jobs in the world.
But this won’t be the older McConaughey’s first foray onscreen - the owner of Chapter 11 Pipe also appeared alongside his famous brother in 1998 action film The Newton Boys.

I am so jealous. Today on Paris Hilton’s My Space blog she wrote about meeting all of the applicants who are competing to be her new bff on her MTV reality show. It sounds so cool and intimate, just like I imagine it would be if I applied to compete to be friends with someone. She was so unselfish that she had the 18 people that she actually chose to be on the show get makeovers from Fred Seagal Beauty, and I know that is not a plug.
