Brad Gets His Sauce Peppered On The Ruins

Brad_TR_thumbAnyone that knows their Real World history  knows that back on his season of the Real World:San Diego  Brad was known for his drunken outbursts that always led to him trying to fight somebody. Back then it was funny, and at its worst  it led to no more than Brad getting tossed in the “drunk tank” for a night.

Once Brad hit the Challenges he cut back on his drinking, and subsequently his desire to fight people while in an inebriated state. There was one time however where he did get a bit too sloshed, and the quote “NOW IT’S A NECKLACE!!” was born.

That wonderful moment is what brings us to what happened about a week ago on The Ruins where Brad got drunk and decided it was time to fight his good friend Darrell.

Now immediately after this episode aired Brad and Darrell reunited on the After Show, and both expressed how deeply saddened they were that event took place and made up, both agreeing that the fight was a stupid decision, and calling it water under the bridge. They actually seemed sincere, unlike the whole CT and Adam reunion where Adam refused to let it go.

As bad as this altercation between friends was, it does raise a question: If Darrell and Wes would have actually made it outside when they were trying to fight earlier this season, would Wes have gotten his ass beat too? After all Darrell didn’t want to fight Brad and we see how that turned out. But more importantly, if by some stroke of entertainment luck Darrell and CT ended up on the same challenge and CT went on his “CT mad/CT smash!” tirades and happened to step to Darrell who do you think would win?

Is Wes Too Good for The Ruins?

Former Real World/Road Rules Champion Wes Bergmann is a successful businessman. So what made him go to The Ruins?

Wes_TRThis season of  Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Ruins has the challengers facing proven champions, which should be a cakewalk for the people who have already won in previous competitions. But when  a certain red-haired, muscle-bound competitor named Wes decides to sabotage his own team until they “play fair”, its seems like it’s any body’s game.

Wes Bergmann started The Ruins off on contentious footing, mixing his personal vendetta against Kenny with a choice not to be a team player because he didn’t like the way they chose people to go into battle. And Evan, Kenny and Johnny who have been dominating the previous several challenges seemed to not want Wes to come to Thailand.  Evan said that he called Wes several times to find out if he was going to be in the competition, and he said he wasn’t. Yet, he showed up, causing Evan to say he didn’t trust him.

Evan seems to think that Wes lied to him about participating in the ruins just to mess with his head. Honestly, I don’t think that’s true. Wes is probably a very busy man. He and his ex-fiance Johanna own a bar in L.A., and he just opened a Korean-style frozen yogurt shop in his hometown of Leawood, KS. He’s very much involved in entrepreneurial pursuits, and from all accounts wanted to spend his time running his businesses.

However, according to an article in Sun Publications, he did say that he would return to do a Real World/Road Rules Challenge if it was in his best interest from a financial standpoint:

“I’m not necessarily opposed to going back. But I promise you if I go back, it was because I was compensated very well. I want to make a name for myself for my brain and entrepreneurship now.”

You have to wonder how much he was offered to come back and shake things up. Probably more than some of the people who seem to show up for every single challenge.

And for all the girls who were wondering: he and KellyAnne are no longer together. According to the article, which was written before he went to do The Ruins, he and KelleyAnne had broken up. Either the article has its dates wrong, or Wes and KellyAnne were  pretending to still be together for the show.
